I heard this story:

There was a Christian woman who was walking to her car
in a lonely parking lot late in the evening.

Suddenly three evil looking men stepped out from behind
cars where they had been hiding.

The three men started walking toward her.

She could tell by looking at them that they intended to harm her.

She froze.

Yet she felt peace in her heart believing that the Lord would protect
her.

The three men kept walking toward her and when they got about 15
feet from her, suddenly they froze, and a look of extreme fear came
upon their faces.

They then turned around and ran for their lives.

The woman had no idea what caused the three men to turn and run.

Later the police arrested the three men and one of them told the police
that they had seen a powerful being standing beside the women with a
drawn sword in his hand.

They said his face was like a blazing golden light and that he appeared
at least 10 feet tall.

And that they could tell from his body language that he was going to kill
them if they harmed the woman.

We are not alone.

"Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who
will inherit salvation."
Hebrews 1:14

"The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he
delivers them."
Psalm 34:7

"See, I am sending my angel ahead of you to guard you along the way
and to bring you to the place I have prepared."__ God Almighty

9If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,”
and you make the Most High your dwelling,

no disaster will come near your tent.
11For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;

12they will lift you up in their hands,

Because christian women do get raped, the question must be asked why she was protected and others are not.

I’ve heard this same story about a woman walking through central park facing a man who later raped another woman in the park. She was called in to testify that this man was in central park that evening. When she asked the guy why he didn’t rape her, he said she had a big guy with her.

So why are some protected from harm but others not?

I think it has to do with the thoughts and intents of the heart. In the op the girl said she knew that she would be protected, thereby focusing the intent of her heart on the Lord's protection. In other words, she had faith and stood on that faith in thought and heart so this allowed Heaven to act in her behalf.

This other girl who got raped...what were her thoughts and spiritual condition before the attack. I suspect that she may not have reached out to Heaven for help which is why we did not get help. It is written, ye have not because you ask not.

Have you ever heard of a girl who was about to be raped and cried out to the Lord for help and she did not get it and was raped? I'm guessing no. Just like, I've never heard that a Christian was abducted by a UFO either. Lol.

God put into place certain divine laws which govern our planet. God will not violate these laws just because the victim had never learned about them and about how to cooperate with the spiritual realm. Cooperate with your Angels.
One big rule is, We have to ask for help before they can intervene. Or! If someone prays for you to be helped!

Other than that God doesn't violate free will. You don't want His help? Fine you can do it yourself? It's a personal choice. I ask for help all the time, Lol!

You know how rich businessman and important people when they go out, they have an entouage with them. Surrounded by a crowd of advisors and protectors?

That's me now!! I have the Father with me. (Jesus is in the father and the Father in Jesus), Jesus is with me and will never forsake me (In Christ-Christ in me), Holy Spirit is always there we know that. At least one Guardian Angel and everyone has a Scribe Angel also. They write down everything you say and do.

So that's 5 in Edward's entourage, Lol. I have heard someone say once that sometimes people have more than one Guardian Angel?

Thank you JAG .. If we believe then we

also need to trust. My go to is Psalms 91.
You're welcome.
__________

Regarding Psa 91:
This is an amazing coincidence.
I have always loved Psalm 91 and yesterday
I was reading in the Psalms and I came across
Psalm 91 and read it carefully and I said to myself
"Humm, I'm not gonna let this Psalm "get away
from me" anymore so right then, I made a tab
from a small sticky square titled Psa 91, and stuck
it to the edge of the Psa 91 page on my Bible.

The answer to that question is . . . /smile . . . one of "the secret things that
belong to God" Deut 29:29 - and I'm being serious.

God is absolute Sovereign over the affairs of humans and God alone
has the answers to your question of "Why are some protected and others
are not protected?"

Regarding your "Christian women do get raped" :

I do not say they do not get raped.

But I do say that there is such a thing as a group of people that
claim to be Christians, and who have learned all the "right Christian
words" and who blend in with the general body of Christians, but who,
in truth are, NOT born again Christians. I personally keep this fact in mind
when I hear of bad things happening to "good people." Why? Because the
"good people" may in fact not be good people at all.

That said, I do NOT deny that there have many true Christians that have
experienced what we call "bad things" for example the first century Christians
in the Roman Arena.

Some closing points:
(1) Nothing can possibly Happen to one of God's children where God
does not work within that "bad" thing for the good of His child Romans 8:28

(2) Therefore whatever does not kill the true child of God will make that child
of God stronger.

So?

So for the childred of God it is ALWAYS win win -- never losing.

Victory in Jesus!

You’ve mixed a lot of stuff in there. Frist you say the answer as to why some experienced raped while angels protected others belongs to the “secret thing.” Then you go about answering. So do you realize you’re arguing with yourself?

Romans 8:28 has requirements or conditions. You left those out. One, for those who love God amd second, for those called according to His purpose. Those are the conditions we must fulfill to qualify, This is one answer to the question.

Second, Jesus talked about those who fall away from the faith many times. So for them, it’s a losing situation. Our responsibility is to make sure we aren’t among them.

JAG .. , I’m a woman and the answer as to why God protects some and not others is not theoretical. I want to be among the protected. “It’s a Secret” is not a help. This question means a lot to me.

Have you ever invited Jesus yo go with you and protect you when you go out? Have you ever spoken to your Guardian Angel?

I fully understand, truly I do.

I wish we could say that God keeps ALL of His sons and daughters out
of the fire ALL the time -- but alas that's just not true.

We have the example of Job and we have the example of the great Apostle
Paul who received five times from the Jews the 40 lashes minus one. That
comes out to 195 lashes on his back.

The very best we can do is to say this:

Large numbers of true Christians never undergo any major catastrophic events.

The true Christians that do go through the fires of adversity, always have the
Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit right there as their helper and Comforter.
The fourth man in the Fire (as in the book of Daniel).

You love the Lord and you are called according to His purposes, therefore
God will ALWAYS work for the good in the midst of whatever He allows to
happen in your life. Romans 8;28 compels us to believe that. And it is true.

Matthew 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

What many are missing is the word "shall" in Matthew 24:13 as it's expressed as a future tense that indicates a promise. God never said that anything bad will not happen to us, but that we endure those things that can come against us. Being a Christian is not rainbows and lollipops, but enduring even the devasting things that can happen to us.

For by grace, as it's only Gods favor extended to all who will receive it by faith, is a free gift as we become His workmanship created in Christ unto good works that God ordained that we should continue walking in the good works of Christ, Ephesians 2:8; Matthew 25:31-40. We can not earn our salvation by our own works nor do we even deserve Gods grace, Genesis 6:6-8. Only by a mustard seed of faith do we come to Christ and repent of our sins are we then only washed clean by the blood of Christ and become Spiritually reborn again (not saved) through the Spiritual rebirth of John 3:3-6 by that of Romans 10:9,10.

Matthew 24:13 says that those who endure until the end shall be saved. This means enduring all the trials and tribulations that this world will bring against us for the sake of our witness and testimony of Christ, Acts 14:22, Rev 2:10. The end means the end of our days here on this present earth when those in the grave and we who are still alive at His coming will then be caught up to Christ and are saved at that time as we have endured all things and never gave up our faith in Christ.

God's word never said we would not go through trials or tribulations, but through many trials and tribulations, if we endure until the end, then we will see the Kingdom of God, Acts 14:22, as we are all called into discipleship as we share our witness and testimony with those who have not yet repented and turned back to God. Below are twenty reasons why God allows us to go through trials and tribulations so that we will always remain in His will.

Why God allows us to go through trials and tribulations:
1. Training as God prepares us for the future
2. Patience as we rely and trust in God's timing
3. Perseverance through trials that we remain in Gods will
4. Trust as God's ways are not our ways and He has a better plan for us
5. To learn from our mistakes
6. To humble ourselves before Him
7. To discipline us
8. Teach us to be dependent on Him alone
9. To spend quiet time with God so He can speak to us
10. To teach us of His protection
11. That we also share in the sufferings of Christ that we be not ashamed
12. Strengthen us to become more like Christ
13. To develop character
14. Build up our faith in the Lord
15. For a testimony and witness to help others
16. To show us sin in our lives that we need to own up to having
17. To remind us that God is in control
18. Helps us gain knowledge and understanding God's word
19. Teaches us to be thankful
20. To take our mind off the things of the world and and put them back on God

I fully understand, truly I do.

I wish we could say that God keeps ALL of His sons and daughters out
of the fire ALL the time -- but alas that's just not true.

I don’t deny any of that, but when you are in the situation it’s not helpful. We are not Job and I doubt anyone here has been so righteous God called them the most righteous on earth. The end of Job was better then the troubles. This cannot be said of the rape victims.

The case of Ananias and Sapphire did not come for the same reasons regarding Job nor did God work it to their good. Why? They certainly weren’t called according to his purposes. That is a condition for that promise, often forgotten.

For me, I see it as this. If a woman walks in obedience to the Lord, listening to the Holy Spirit and feeding the love for Him, there is a greater chance of being protected. Death comes to us all and this cannot avoided, but other sorrows can be avoided by obedience to Him. There’s a prophet who was killed by lions because he disobeyed God and only because he disobeyed God. I think you can do no wrong by seeking to obey God. I was walking in a remote place in the dark and suddenly I became aware of danger. I turned around and went home. I have no idea if I had avoided trouble but the sense of danger was instant and strong.

Was it a gut feeling or did you feel it in your heart or could you tell?

I don’t deny any of that, but when you are in the situation it’s not helpful.
True, not likely helpful at that very moment.

We are not Job and I doubt anyone here has been so righteous God called them the most righteous on earth.
The point was it all ended up good for Job and it will all end up good for us (even though we are not Job}

The end of Job was better then the troubles.
As an aside ...
By the way, some scholars hold that Job's troubles only lasted a very short time -- about 9 months.
Then he was restored with "twice as much."

This cannot be said of the rape victims.
I don't think we can KNOW that. How do you KNOW that. We can't see what God does
inside the mind and heart of a Christian woman who was raped.
The case of Ananias and Sapphire
As an aside, , ,
We have zero reasons to believe that Ananias and Sapphira were not in reality children of the devil and were never true born again Christians. Why assume they were true born again Christians!

Where is the guarantee of this? Do you know there’s a verse in Corinthians where Paul writes that some of the members of the church, Christians obviously, have died because of their behavior? It did not end up well. There are conditions for God working things to do.
As an aside ...

He had many daughters. They weren’t all born nine months later. From the description, it doesn’t seem to diminish his suffering.
I don't think we can KNOW that. How do you KNOW that. We can't see what God does

I’ve counseled them. I can’t recall
them saying it was a good thing they were raped.

Peter thought they were christians as did the entire community. Peter said that they had “lied to the Holy Spirit” not they needed to get saved. We have no reason to think they weren’t. They were even talking to the Holy Spirit, odd for unbelievers.

But do you think we can simply conclude that when things don’t turn out well that the victims’ problem is that they weren’t christians?
I understand your feelings.

Thanks

You know @JAG, the Bible clearly talks about bad things happening to people. I’ve discussed eschatology here and the main point of interest to most is the suffering described. There doesn’t seem to be a promise that believers won’t suffer or that it will “turn out good” unless one decides to believe death is good cause obe goes to Heaven. The martyrs in Revelation complaint about their murder and want justice. They don’t say, “well God worked it to good for cause we’re in Heaven.” It’s better to admit the truth that bad things happen and to believers too, but if we fulfill the conditions, He can work it to good.
