Dear MysticalJourney, I write this as an encouragement to your faith. When young in the faith I was with an older friend in church, and he was to be baptized that night. He had Rheumatoid Arthritis to the extent large lumps extended from some joints; I only saw the one. They had him on gold injections if I understood it correctly, but in any case I asked him why he didn't ask for prayer to be healed when he was going to be baptized. Oh Eugene, I don't know if I really believe in that, and young in the faith I didn't know for sure either. I personally saw and felt a large hard lump extending from his right wrist joint prior to his going forward.
He did ask our pastor to pray for him, the pastor explained the request to us, and the entire church broke out in prayer and praises to God. He was then baptized, walked somewhat unsteady seemingly in a daze of sorts back to where I was sitting and showed me his wrist. The lump had all but disappeared and there only remained a small soft rising of the skin where it had been, and that too disappeared within a week.
For some time his level of pain had been so severe he had to sleep completely covered even in hot summer days to generate enough heat on his joints to help alleviate it somewhat. That night he was able to stop that practice for their was no pain. He had been an avid golfer which he again was able to enjoy. I later beat him in a game I'm not certain he liked, though it may have been woot dances of intended agitation.
Another friend asking prayer was in the hospital ICU with breathing problems, had xrays showing a large growth in his wind pipe or whatever it is at what he described the lowest point of his life. We prayed and the following morning they were doing additional tests, could find nothing, repeated the first xrays and only found a small residue left of something they didn't recognize. God can and will heal you, and He is not a respecter of persons; you belong to Him. Then why is He allowing this trial of your faith? I do not know but I do know and believe that He has not forsook you and is right there in the fire with you.
Dear Father, I come to You this night asking for Your healing touch to be given this dear brother, and to have him receive relief from the pain and nausea he is experiencing. Thank You Father for Your love and care of this dear saint that brought him this far, and I do ask this to be to Your glory to all he testifies to in the precious name of Jesus. Amen.
