[__ Prayer __] Prayer for Strength

I work at an abusive workplace, where the manager give me some of the most stressful, physically demanding and demeaning tasks. The manager's favourite employees harass me and bully me. Although they are new and first started working at the company, he granted them benefits. I have working there several months longer. When I first started working there, I had trusted the manager and confided in him. However, when he gained the new employees, he talked to them about me, and told them secrets I told him. I also was expected to stay extra hours without pay. I started developing panic attacks, anxiety and severe depression. Most times I am afraid to come to work the next day. I would be tired and exhausted when I come home from work. I would also have nightmares and flashbacks when I leave work.

I just want to ask for prayer for direction and strength. I want to leave this job so badly, but I feel as if God wants me to stay there. I also had invested a lot of time and effort into this job. It is also a healthcare position and the patients do need help since some of the people do not care about them. Please pray that I will be protected, and that I can keep trusting in God, even when things get tough. Help me to keep going despite the difficulties. Also, prevent me from thinking about work when I leave the place and allow me to enjoy life again.

Wren51,

2 things.
First, everything in life is temporary except for salvation.
Even death is only a door that opens for us the glory of an eternal Heaven.
So, even tho you are in a situation that feels so harsh, just remember that its temporary....It will not last.
2nd, Dark comes before Light, wrong often comes before right, and struggle always comes before relief, so, hang in there and
you will find that what you are dealing with is a transition to a better future.
God is good, and He sees you and this situation, so, many of us here will agree now that you are rescued by the
Author of a "brand new circumstance" = a brand new beginning, as life in Christ is alway about change, its always about transition and growth.

God bless,

K

Dear Sister wren51, feelings can be deceptive, and maybe your wants are more guided by the Holy Spirit. I say this not knowing all that is occurring, but in the following scripture the Apostle Paul read the handwriting on the wall, and left. I personally do not think you would be neglecting the grace of God in choosing another place to work, especially when there are so many areas of health care needing help.

Act 9:23 And after that many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him:
Act 9:24 But their laying await was known of Saul. And they watched the gates day and night to kill him.
Act 9:25 Then the disciples took him (Paul) by night, and let him down by the wall in a basket.

Dear Father, please make it clear to this dear sister of ours and give her the way to better employment and peace in her life. Thank you Father and I ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

I'll keep you up in prayer. I think you should be careful about discerning between what God wants and your own guilty feelings ((just a personal thought)).

You're in my prayers. :)

I agree with Eugene.
You don't abandon something right away, but if it continues to make you miserable, a remedy must be found.
One remedy would be if your superior is changed. The next one would create a whole different ambiance.
But what if your superior never leaves? How could you know God's will? God does not wish His children to be ridiculed at work. This is not conducive to your dignity and children of God have dignity ingrained in them from the Father. He also does not want you to dread going to work or getting depressed over it.

Jesus did say to pick up your cross if you want to follow Him, and to pick it up every day. Picking up your cross means doing your part, helping out, reaching out to help. This is not happening where you currently are placed. The only result I can see is your misery. God does not desire you to be miserable. There are many other sick people in other institutions that you could help and be happy doing it.

When we do our part, even though it's difficult and results may not be seen, there must be some joy in it. I can see no joy here. Satan is everywhere. We have to be sensitive to when he starts to rule our life and move on.

I pray God gives you light and wisdom and that you can make the right choice and be able to live with it.

I will be praying for your situation to improve.
Your boss does seem to favour certain employee's, however this is true in many companies.
I hope your boss will display compassion and an appreciation soon.

Thank you for your prayers. It has been answered approximately 2-3 days after this post. The place is currently still difficult and still takes a lot of time getting use to with the new boss and his changes. I don't know the outcome, but God is in control and I will keep praying to strengthen my faith.

It reminded me that God hears our prayers.

The new boss made changes. Some of them are tough, and the requirements are more difficult. However, it seems more fair. There have been backlash, and I have a coworker who still keeps trying to abuse the system. Nevertheless, it is answered prayer. I just keep praying for God's direction and for strength.

hey, wren. I'm glad God has worked in your situation through the new boss. Hopefully, things will continue changing in a positive direction. You're in my prayers.

Thank you for your prayers! The new boss is training me for a different task in the pharmacy, this one is not as physically demanding, however it requires more mental concentration. It is crucial that I don't make a mistake. I will keep praying as I do my work, and set my confidence in God.
