Update:

The manhunt that was started last week to find the guy who shot the officer has now ended. The perp was located, FBI and SWAT surrounded the cabin he was in. As the law enforcement reps approached the cabin, the guy started shooting, injuring an FBI agent. The perp was later found dead inside the cabin.

It is just so sad that all the deaths (2 of them: the perp & the distracted driver) and injuries could easily have been avoided if the perp had simply accepted the warning and quietly driven away. So sad.
