Presidential Debate?

I really don't care much about two individual human beings arguing over there world views. I would rather go fishing and have a good time.

No politics forum here?
It made me glad I live in Australia. The choice of two geriatrics. Neither of them admirable.
At the moment Oz has a good leader. But not perfect. He went AWOL at the start of our bushfires here. He has been a good covid leader though . Full of practical commonsense in my view. He's a Pentecostal by the way. I don't hold that against him.?

Please do not discuss politics on this board. The constitution insists on the separation of church and state, despite what Mr. Falwell said. Certain people are easily mesmerized by evil politicians. It gives me a headache to even think about it.

"Separation of church and state" is a legal principle in the United States, which is related to, but not found within, the First Amendment to the United States Constitution, in the Bill of Rights. The First Amendment reads: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..." The principle is paraphrased from Thomas Jefferson's 'separation between Church & State."' While not illegal, religions voting blocks have been found to be subject to manipulation to outside parties with a hidden agenda."

Trump has got Corona now? Is that right?

That is correct, along with the first lady, some of the advisors. Also apparently a senator or two as well. It seems like it may point back to last weekend and the dog and pony show of introducing their Supreme Court nominee.

NO POLITICS. IF I HAVE TO FOLLOW THE RULES SO DO YOU.

This is hilarious on one level but unfortunately tragic at the same time. God Bless America because it needs all the blessings it can get.

I really resent you breaking the rules Humble Soul. You are so wrong to talk about this on the board. I have to hold my tongue about this evil man and so do you.

Why are you shouting? There is a difference between discussing what's happening in this world versus promoting a political agenda. The OP only asked what we thought about the debate. That's all. Nothing more. I didn't see the OP asking about any political topics discussed within the debate, only the debate itself.

Are you a moderator here now? If the thread becomes too political, I am a positive they will close it down quickly. But I must ask, why do you need the rules of this forum to know that you should hold your tongue and not speak evil of this man? Does not Jesus ask the same of you?

What can be more political than a presidential debate. That is the very definition of politics. You are being unfair. But I think you know that.

Where is the line?. I mean asking if Trump has 19 or if people watched a debate is not really talking political and policies and this and that and arguing. It's very light talk.

Ok. Regarding the debate. The Republican candidate did not follow the rules his assistants. The rules stated that only one person would talk at a time. He kept interrupting the Democratic candidate. He called the other candidates names like a bully would call his victim names. He is very immature. I did not know whether to laugh or cry. I am frightened that anyone would support someone that is so offensive. I have been watching debates since 1960 when Nixon debated Kennedy. They were gentlemen. They took turns. They were polite. I kept waiting for the Republican candidate to disavow the Nazi group Proud Boys and he would not. I was very discouraged when it was over.

Can answer questions without getting political.

Did you guys watch it? What did you guys think?

Sometimes I think I am in the Twilight Zone. It was a political debate. Anything said about it is political. The debate was political. The participants were politicians. The audience were voters. Wake up!

Couldn't bear to watch. I would have preferred warren, sanders....but the dems have crowned Biden as the most reasonable candidate. Ok.....

Meanwhile, trump is the current president, and he issues decrees via Twitter.

We can choose reasonable Biden for minimal real progress, or...trump. and that's assuming ones vote will not be suppressed, somehow.

In other news.....sedative and anti anxiety drug prescriptions are apparently skyrocketing in the u.s..

One lesson we can learn from watching that low level debate. If you aren't used to slinging mud, don't take on one who specialises in it. I'm a fan of neither Trump not Biden. But it looked to me as if Biden was letting Trump drag him down to his level. Not that Biden is a saint. Still he doesn't look suited to playing macho style aggression, like Trump is. Trump got Biden off track, and made both of them look unfit for Presidency. If all you can do is list the sins of your opponent, doesn't mean you are fit to be a leader of anyone or anything.
