Pride is something not easy to spot, not only in us but in others also. Moses was said to be a very humble man, but many thought he was full of pride. They said we are just as good as him, in their hearts, and thought they would be just as acceptable to God as him, and paid a dreadful price for their mistaken pride.

Now I can understand the thinking, and how they made the mistake. Even today when we see a highly anointed man of God, we can see that they too make mistake so we think we are just a capable in God's eyes as they are. For this reason we still see many people coming against God's anointed men. That's our pride.

You see, pride is not about how many mistakes you make it is about whether you think you know! Moses was a murder, but God still choose him. Why? Well, because he was humble. And how did that show up? It showed up because he listened to God!!

If you are humble, you are not supposing you are right. You see that you make mistakes. So when you come to proof (like a burning bush) that God is there and can be heard from, you are going to start asking Him questions about how to improve you. You are going to want His reproof. Obviously know body is smarter that God!

Funny things is, we don't actually think that. We tend to think we are smarter than God. That is what happened to those people in the desert that challenged Moses in the desert. They thought they were smarter than God. If you think that, they result is that you don't seek Him and what He has to say to you. That is to say, you won't open the door to God.

God wants to help us, and indeed is just waiting for the time when we might turn and listen to Him, but our pride keeps us from doing that. It keeps us from getting the reproof that comes from His still small voice, that we so desperately need. So why does that highly anointed man of God wind up with the power of God behind Him. Well, that man turned and listen to the Lord our God and did what God told Him instead of what He wanted to do. He was humble.

Of course not everyone in front of large crowds of people speaking about Jesus Christ is highly anointed. I don't always agree with the highly anointed man of God. Yeah, they still make mistakes. But I do realize they have been talking to the Lord and doing what God wants them to do, otherwise the power of God would not be there.

Now sometimes, I see people come against a man a highly anointed man of God, quoting Scriptures that point out that there will be man doing great miracles that are not of God. Yeah, God is not the only spirit and someone can be hooked up into the wrong spirit. But Satan is not trying to bring people to Jesus Christ and glorify Him. That is exactly the opposite of what Satan wants, so he would never support someone doing that.

But to really be sure, we need to start seeking the Lord Jesus Christ for ourselves and listen for His voice, and of course test the spirits like written in the Bible. Jesus Christ is Lord. Jesus Christ came in the flesh. Is that what you hear? That is what the Holy Spirit tells you. And you hear reproof.

This morning when I sat down with the Lord and my Bible, I was thinking to ask Him to go over a Psalms with me. He will, but He asked me to go to Proverbs because He has something He want to cover with me.

Prov 1:23 Turn to my reproof, Behold, I will pour out my spirit on you; I will make my words know to you.

The above is what He went over. If you see a man of God who His Holy Spirit is poured out on, you can be sure he is also hearing the words of God that God has made known to him. So what of a man that does not hear from God? His problem is that he didn't turn to God and that because He didn't want the reproof God will tell him. Consider that and seek the reproof that comes from a loving God. Get rid of that pride, that thinking you are smarter that Him!

Is it really possible to be without vanity? I find that I need the Holy Spirit to correct me even because of vanity. Therefore, I consider that since pride arises within myself apart from God's correction it is a humbling thought, while thinking I am humble all by myself is pride.

Does this describe pride?
For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness. Romans 12:3-8 NKJV

If anyone thinks they know more that God they are thinking more highly of themselves than they ought to think. So if we do not take all things to God in prayer (asking the Lord for what He thinks and listening to His response) then we are thinking more highly of ourselves than we ought to.

So yes, Romans 12:3-8 does address pride to some extent. Though not only pride, but also that God in His wisdom gives different people different things. So how do you know what things you should do? Listen to the Lord and do what He say; of course. How do you know what others are supposed to do? Well, you can also ask the Lord about it, but He is a personal God. That is, He wants to guide you personally. He will give you much information, which will include comments about what He has others doing, but even that is meant to personally help you.

I am a business manage by trade. In business management there is a phrase that goes, "On a need to know bases". The Lord and I once had a conversation about that. He doesn't go by that 100%, but basically He does. We need to know certain things for us to become what we need to become. He provides what we need to know. He might go over some other things with you if you want, but mostly He like to cover what you need to know. You need to do what He asks you personally to do and for the time period He wants you doing it.

Now among other things, He personally asked me to start this thread. It is important for people to understanding that if they are not seeking Him and listen to Him they are into themselves. That's pride. It is thinking you know better that God. It is thinking more highly of yourself that you ought. And it results in leaning on your own understanding and doing what you think is right instead of what the Lord personally wants you to do. If that is happening in your life you won't be hearing the small voice of the Lord, because you are not seeking Him.

So have you heard from Him today?
