Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.

any thoughts on this?

Jesus is talking to His followers and telling them basically that Satan is about ready to attack Him.

John 14:30-31 NLT
“I don’t have much more time to talk to you, because the ruler of this world approaches. He has no power over me, but I will do what the Father requires of me, so that the world will know that I love the Father. Come, let’s be going.

Well, we agree on this one (at least as far as I can tell).

What this text is not suggesting is that Satan in any sense is "lord" or "king" of the world after the resurrection of Jesus. Many people believe that, this side of the cross, Satan is still "the lord of this world".

That is not what the Bible teaches. Thankfully, the ruler of this present world is the Lord Jesus Christ.

Worth repeating

Go read Numbers 7 for the meaning of 'prince'. Jesus is simply saying that the religious leadership of that era which rejected Him is coming to remove Him.

Interesting - never thought of it that way.

Ephesians 2:1-3 NKJV
1 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, 2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, 3 among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.

Satan is the prince of the powers of the unseen world around us.

1 Peter 5:8 NLT
Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.
