First off I want to make this very clear before I start my post...............
I AGREE that there are some MEN who abuse the word of God and use it as get rich quick type of thing and Paul called them huksters......However..............You can not speak as to all that teach or preach about seed time and harvest and the tythe and so forth are crooked.....That is a place no Christians wants to find them selves in before God....

The Tythe is NOT OURS to begin with.............There is NO argument to this....It's Kingdom Law.
10 percent or the tythe BELONGS to God......It's not if you want to or if you think you can afford it.
Christians find all sorts of reasons why they can't and God won't send a lightning bolt down but you literally tie Gods Hands in some area's.....See God's word is our road map to this life. If we choose to follow His plan or word we can live a victorious and blessed life in Christ.......However.......even though it says all the promises of God are ours when we made Him Lord of our lives,, they WILL NOT just start to go to work for you. I am not talking about if you are saved or not....I am talking about His promises of protection, prospering in every part of ourlives and being.

Back to the Tythe....Malachi 3:10-12....Talks about bringing Him the tythes.....There are a lot of things He will do or another words is now reliable to do for us....Yes I said reliable, we have a covenant with God. When we honor our part He is OBLIGATED to HONOR His part every single time.......that is the same in every single...promise...now wait before you throw something at me.....I aint done yet.....;}

Now those huksters I was talking about earlier play with the word of God and promise results in 27 hours for example.......Their hearts are not right with God and their motives are not right before God.....
Now when a believers heart is right before God in more then just this area, and the believer knows His covenant with God, well then God WILL fullfill His end of it.

Now with giving of the tythe, He says He will rebuke the devourer for our sake.....That's His part, (thank God) and He talks about our crops will be abundant and no grape will fall from the vine before it's ripe and so on. Yes I know we may not have crops, so crops were their bussiness or job etc, grapes were fruits of their labors......if a person worked a normal factory job then money (pay check) would be fruit of their labor. We are to give the best to GOD and the first fruit...This all through out the written word of God.

If a person has less then their share of things in this life and gets blessed with some extra cash as a gift, they then tytheof it unto God because they love Him and respeck Him, then that tythe has got to go some place right ? Well they tythe and then people who do not have revelation of this or wisdom of Go9d's word then start speaking that preacher takes money from the poor lil old lady who has nothing.......... Insult to God....

Most of the time thaqt lil ol lady knows something that the mouthy person does not and trust God and ends up getting delivered from the poor state they were in.

Now there is also planting seed which is to bring a harvest.....their are spiritual laws about seed time and harvest time and must be followed to the letter of the law...(pund intended ) lol That is again another kingdom law and works when the believer has revelation knowledge of this and how the kingdom works.....

So Deborah there are those who take money and do it right and those who do not. The problem is that way too many that get accused of doing it wrong is wrong in it's self..The media loves nothing better then to tear down a preacher....It's fun for them and it gives them a feeling of power and pride...Go figure.....They for the most part twist facts and edit tapes to make their case....This is true with secular news and so mjuch more....Preachers buy into to it and begin to poast their boast and get a nice following........Then Christian believers who do not have much understanding in this fall into this and run their mouths.......

The problem is...........confussion and strife develope and then as the words says all sorts of evil are loosed then.
I spent some time reading links found in this forum on this and other places and my own searches.....
Most of the stuff is many years old and was resolved and dropped because of false accusations and media backing down and why ? Because God stands up for HIS OWN......that is if you are walking in right standing with Him.

So Deborah, You can see, that there are huksters that use the word of God for ill gotten gain but their are Many who simply live by the word and so do the Believers who are a part of that church.
Ministires dont buy jets and houses and such from poor lil old ladies with starving children....Many of the Jets in several ministries were sown into the Kingdom or that ministry as seed......Funny how the media does not do a show saying....well folks we got to the truth and we were wrong and it seems these fine people here xyz fellowship are on the up and up and have done nothing wrong....It just does not happen, at best it just goes away.

Oh well those who have ears let them hear.....

They don't just steal from the elderly, they steal from the poor. Children go without proper food and medical care because of their false teachings about the tithe. They teach it falsely and many people end up giving in order to get more for themselves rather than to give from their hearts in order to further the kingdom. They promote greed in their false teaching of the tithe.
It's not just Word of Faith who do this either.

What You just said is the reason why their children go without....many people end up giving to get more for themselves.....it' not the teaching but the hearts desires of the people, and reasons for the people giving. It's all about them and not for God. When we give in reverence to the Father, and out of a joyful heart, and obedience, to further the gospel, And not to get things for only ourselves...we are in the right attitude of heart. As James 4:3 says.."when you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.

We are not the Creator Himself, but if we are born of the same Spirit as Jesus, we are of God's Seed, and God sees us the same as Jesus for we are hidden in Christ as we grow to maturity, for we are the actual members of his body being trained up in the things of God.

The Father is always head over His Word meaning Christ, for Jesus said it is the Father who does the works in me and brings the miracles. Jesus blessed the offering of thanksgiving, but the Father ,who was in heaven, multiplied it. Jesus said Lazarus, come forth! But he made it clear to the people by praying to the Father first so the people would understand who was going to bring forth the miracle to raise Lazarus from the dead.
So if Jesus was called The Son of God, then we, with him being the head of his body(those being made perfect as our Father is perfect) we are being made into the image of Christ(not physical looks, but attributes) to rule and reign with the Word as gods(son's of God) on this earth. Yet unlike the rulers who have forsaken God as their Head to rule the nations in their carnal nature of today, with ungodly wisdom, unjustly judge, murder for gain etc.... The sons of God will not be those who continue to eat from the forbidden tree to learn how to do good and evil. But from the tree of life that brings us wisdom to discern between what is good and what is evil to learn how to keep evil far from them, and judge justly and with mercy.
Jesus was rebuking the Pharisee's because, they knowing God's Word, should be walking in God's image(attributes) to be upright being righteous! But they were walking in the image of a beast, ungodly, dictating the Word for others to follow, making them stumble and suffer the consequences of their actions, all they while they would not because they could not do them themselves, as if the laws were not intended for them to keep, just everyone else to suffer through. They should have known Better!
But they were led of their carnal nature, not godly. Anyone in Pride exalts themselves above the Father thinking they can be their own god, no longer needing God's guidance or input, but they are out side of God.
But WITH God (guiding you), all things are possible! The true Jesus will never exalt himself above the Father or teach anyone else to either! Keep that in mind.

Here is how we are to think of ourselves, but be careful to rightly divide this Word, not to fill up, in error, with pride to think this is saying that you your self ARE GOD but that God gives us power (as gods) over the ungodly things of this world and that we should act like a child of God in humbleness, obeying the Father in everything, jus as our brother & Lord Jesus did.

Phil 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Here we see that clearly we are one with his body are Jesus ' body being the One new man!

Eph 1:22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,

Here we see the LORD telling Moses that He has made Moses a god.
Ex 7:1 And the LORD said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet.

Here we see that the Father is over Jesus and will always be to one who is a true child of God.

I am not talking about why individual people give and what they give, that is between them and God. I'm just talking about how the tithe is taught by 99% of all evangelists, preachers, etc. who teach tithing, even the ones that I really like much of their other teachings.

I am not angry at you. But yes it does make me angry when they are stealing from the elderly and the poor by teaching a false tithe. They are stealing from the very people that are suppose to receive part of the tithe, the poor, and those they are commanded to care for, their elderly parents. They are Pharisees when it comes to the tithe.
They dishonor the tithe itself and what it was. The Lord was very clear about what the tithe consisted of, it was what the Lord had produced from the ground (land) of Israel. It was never from what was produced by human hands.

It's not about 'I know more than you'. It's about, do you know more than they are teaching you? If we don't know ourselves what the law says then how can we tell others what they should be doing or that they will be cursed or blessed by what they do about the tithe?

Psalm 91:11 "For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways." I would like to post a short testimony about the result of this verse. For about 40 years I rode motorcycles. Yep! My first "Harley" was in 1965. It was somewhere around 2009 when with about 12 other Bikers we headed to Washington DC for "Rolling Thunder". We were in New York on a thru way when a girl in a little red car decided she wanted to change lanes. She came from my right and cut in front of me striking my front tire. That sent my Harley jumping up and down. My front tire would jump up and down with my rear tire jumping up and down as well. The rest of the bikers backed off because they knew I was going down at 70 mph.

All of a sudden, it was if I sensed a hand come down and grab my front wheel. My bike stopped immediately its jumping up and down and I was heading straight ahead. We pulled off the highway at the next rest stop and the unsaved bikers that were in our group could not believe what they just saw. The saved bikers let them know that the Lord had saved my life. There was a lot more that I could say, I wanted to keep it short. Praise the Lord for His ministering angels!

It hit home for me. I have had a few situations that I can only answer as GOD IT WAS SIMPLY GOD for His angels do have charge over me.

Thank you Jim. As a fisherman, I'll just bet that you have had a few close calls. I really like fishing as well, on a smaller scale than you I think. I do know that when you mix a 17ft Bass boat, high winds, lots of chop, most anything can happen....Be safe my friend.
