I am going to quit drinking soda. It's so bad for me. I know my health will greatly improve without it.
They say if you want something you'll do it and if you don't want something then you wont.
My plan is to drink ice water or bottled water for refreshment.

Since 2011 I quit smoking, stopped drinking lots of coffee with milk, (now if I drink it it's black) am exercising more consistently, turned back on listening to the wrong music, stopped over thinking and ruminating about hurtful things and the future. Each of these steps I am working on bettering my health. It has taken me years to progress.

So, now that I am emotionally ready, I will turn from away from soda and turn towards God! (and drink more water)
May I ask for prayers that I will make the right decisions day by day in regards to what I drink?

I appreciate so much! I love your prayers!

Praying for you!

Once you get used to drinking water you will notice it's the most delicious drink ever. It's what God made for our bodies to drink.
You can also try herbal and fruit tea (boil it, let it cool down a bit and then put it into the fridge over night if you want to drink it for refreshment) or fresh self-made fruit juice as way better alternatives for sugared sodas.

Thanks Claudya for the tips!

Prayers for the freedom from soda, Angel . In no time at all, you'll find yourself no longer interested in a soda, and when on occasion you do opt to have one, you'll find it's okay but nothing to write home about. :thumbsup

Not drinking soda is a good choice.Especially the non-diet pop.I know people who have lost 25 lbs just from switching to diet.Alot of people think that the diet is not good for your either.Once in a while I will have a diet Sierra Mist but it is usually bottled water for me.I hate just water. If you have any anxiety at all watch the coffee and any caffeine beverages. My anxiety has improved since I cut out caffeine but I am afraid that includes the chocolate I loved so much.

Diet soda is just as bad as normal soda. It may have less sugar, but sorbitol as a substitute that may cause upset stomach symptoms and raise you insuline levels, meaning you'll feel hungry and increase the sugar intake to your cells and have more energy to be converted to fat.

Occassionally having a soda is okay though. Even the unhealthiest foods and beverages are okay in moderation, if you life healthy the most part of the time.

I quit soda (Mountain Dew) about 2 months ago. Replaced it with tea. Lost 10 pounds.

You just drink it more than other things for awhile.

I do not like plain water at all.It is boring to me.I guess if I was dieing of thirst it would taste good.I like a little of squeezed lemon juice in it or a splash of something with flavor.

I was a soda fiend when I was a kid but lost my taste for it and have always loved plain water for man years now. When I was married my wife decided to quit drinking soda and she lost a bunch of weight. She wasn't even really trying to it just happened. she just decided to quit drinking it. She did take to squeezing a bit of fresh lemon into it for flavor and just loved it that way.

I'll drink maybe two or three sodas a year now, usually when no cold water is available. Uncola only please, except the occasional root beer is the only cola that I'll drink. I'll go thirsty before I drink pepsi or coke, blah!
