race, social class, and YOUR church

very little, we have Jamaicans, Haitians and blacks native to America, a few latinos once In a while and us white folk and a few American Indians, and hindustani

At the church we attend there are mostly whites, but not by to much of a majority. We have Black, Asian, Hispanic, Jewish and a few others I'm sure.

I have to say that it honestly doesn't exist in our congregation. We would like a little more diversity in our group, but our building is miles into the white side of St. Pete. Right now, it's all we can afford, but we are planning a move to a more centrally located property.

CE, are you the least bit aware of the overwhelming obsession with "class" consciousness your posts display? It truly seems that this is your major driving focus in life. Remember, "As a man thinketh, so is he." And, "Where your treasure is, there your heart will be."

Hi, I am from South Africa.

There are many different races at my church and social class varies from very poor to very wealthy.
However these factors don't come to mind as I go to church to praise God and to get a bit closer to him. We all come from different walks of life and whatever we do, we need to do it for the right reasons.

Don't matter to me.
They can all sit with me if they haven't already sat with everyone else.
If your church is different, get out!

Sounds like you could be describing my church. Mostly Jamaicans and other West Indians, Nigerians, Liberians, native born black Americans, and a few of us white guys. A lot of government workers, teachers, nurses, small businessmen, and a couple of university professors.
