I haven't seen any of those but will put them in my bucket list...I am always looking for movies like this to watch. I did watch a good movie last week called, The Other Side of Heaven.

Thanks, I've seen that one listed on Netflix but was never sure about it. I added it to my queue now. If you're gonna try some off my list, I suggest starting with Flywheel. That's my favorite one I think, but any of the movies by Sherwood Productions are great.

I will do that and give you my feedback on it. I think you will like the movie I suggested...it is based on a true story and the family is living in CA now.

The Book of Eli is a good Christian movie. It's a big-budget action movie that takes place in a post-apocalyptic world in need of Jesus.

The main character, Eli, reminded me of an Old Testament prophet (including related violence). My only big objection to the movie is the ending scene, which essentially undercuts the whole movie - no doubt, a move to appease the anti-Christian Hollywood powers.

Seen it. I didn't really think of it as a Christian movie, but I guess it was sort of. I think it should have ended with him dictating the Bible, but I don't know what part of the ending would appease the anti-Christians? Please elaborate.

Escape from Hell. Interesting movie, it's about a doctor who sets himself up to die (then be brought back to life) so that he can see what happens after death.

You don't know what is appeasing about shelving the Bible, and shelving it in the middle of works like the Talmud and Koran?

I have no interest in movies like Fireproof or Left Behind.

Ah, I see your point. To be honest I couldn't remember how it ended so I went to YouTube and while I was a little turned off by the shelving of the Bible, I couldn't read the other titles on the shelf on my screen. I do agree with you there.

Fireproof and Left Behind... just not your style? Too church basement-ish? or disagreeable doctrine? I'm just curious. I'm pretty unobservant sometimes until something is pointed out to me.

Left Behind for doctrinal disagreements. And, Fireproof, to use the vernacular, just seemed gay. One of many examples: In Fireproof a man uses instructions from a book to fix his relationship with his wife. He assumed his dad wrote the book, but in a twist near the end it is revealed that his mom wrote the book to fix her relationship his dad. Really? The exact same thing to please a woman in a relationship applies to pleasing a man?

I never saw Book of Eli as a Christian movie, more a movie about what faith and belief can do. I never really had an issue with them putting the Bible on the shelf either, didn't really read anything into it.

Just dropped that one in the mail to send it back. My wife and I watched it last night and both thought it was a very good. It was a nice example of faith and perseverance in the serving the Lord, and how the Lord watches over his servants. :yes

Fireproof is a must see for married, single, it really doesn't matter. It's a powerful statement.
By the way it's an instant play movie on Netflix.

I recommend Fireproof, The Encounter, No Greater Love and Saving God :)

I am so glad you watched it and liked it, too. I hope you and your wife are doing well and persevering....

Jerusalem Countdown is a pretty good movie. I don't think its going to be winning any academy awards. Nevertheless, it was a different kind of Christian movie in that it was action oriented. Worth a watch.
