Rediculous Product Photos

I should probably give a little background as to why I am even looking for one of these. Apparently, there is a story going around the internet about a mom whose daughter nearly strangled herself in the backseat with a couple of seat-belts and they did not have a scissors or knife readily available to but the seat-belt off of her. Of course now my wife is really wanting to put a scissors in the car.

Me, knowing that this kind of accident is possible, though remotely since we watch our kids a bit better than the lady in the story, I told her there are these products that we can buy that we can use in these kinds of somewhat rare occurrences. And, since I do not want to just have a scissors in the car, I looked around online for them, and found this at Walmart.
 
No, it's an emergency hammer for your car. It is designed to break glass and cut through a seat-belt strap if you find yourself trapped in your own vehicle.

To me, a 'center punch' is something rather different

but a center punch would also be good for breaking glass. I would simply call that hammer an emergency hammer but it goes by different names - Life Hammer, Auto Emergency Escape tool, etc. Look on eBay.

I keep an emergency tool in my boat and one in my car but a rather different style which includes a sharp blade. It hasn't saved a life yet but it saved a lot of damage once when I got a mooring line jammed in a falling lock. Having the sharp knife to hand saved the day.
