JMM, Welcome to the forum, B.A.C.
Of course it's "Evolutionary Theory", not "Fact". My purpose here is not to debate whether it is fact, theory, or whether both is possible (I know it's not).....my purpose here is to make the case that one's identity as a Christian is NOT contingent upon rejection of evolution (the thread title really says it all :thumb ).

Yes, I agree.BUT we need to define which part of Evolution. You can't use the word as theory, which you are doing if you say "rejecting Evolution isn't a requirement to be a Christian" . I'm saying that there are parts of Evolutionary Theory that haven't been observed. We know that Evolution occurs, finches beak sizes, virus adapting, etc...but you can't get that mixed up with "Evolutionary Theory" which states that we all came from a "Common Ancestor", birds turned into reptiles, etc...this hasn't been confirmed, observed, or verified.

You can create the thread about Genesis, I'll respond accordingly.

God Bless.

One could believe all of that, and still be a good Christian. Not a very good scientist, though, if he thought the evidence said reptiles evolved from birds. Birds evolved from reptiles.

There are also some forms of creationism that are consistent wth Christian belief. YE creationism, because of its "life ex nihilo" doctrine, is inconsistent with God's word in Genesis. But other forms can be accepted by Christians with no inconsistency.
