Roe v. Wade Overturned: Now What?

What don't you understand about this: Abortion is not murder! I will not discuss the issue with anyone who takes that position. ???
It depends on the context.
Most rational Christians believe there are medical situations where the Mothers life is at risk where Abortion may be an option because saving a life ranks very high in scripture.

However, the overwhelming majority of Abortions are due to a Mother simply not wanting a child. Personally, I know of a young woman who is not even 21 that has had three abortions because she won’t even take the steps to have “safe sex”.

This is wrong, anyway you look at it. First, she won’t sustain from sex with multiple boys. Second, she won’t take birth control per prescribed. Third, she won’t make her boys use a condom and lastly, tax payers flip the bill both for her birth control pills she doesn’t take and then they pay for her to murder a child she didn’t want.

Tell me how any of this is ok.

Then quit replying to the thread as Christians who value life will always call it murder, end of story.
Calling it murder doesn't make it murder! I am a Christian and I value life, but I also not in favor of women and fetuses dying needlessly because you and many others lack understanding.

If I was a monitor, I would report you for implying that I don't value life!

Your first sentence -- Most rational Christians... -- is valid. The rest is not.

What is your basis for saying that "the overwhelming majority of Abortions are due to a Mother simply not wanting a child?" Have you actually done a survey or read an objective report? My wife was a certified nurse-midwife for many years, so I know the truth. The great majority of abortions are medically necessary!

Citing the example of one woman having three abortions doesn't prove anything. One person's error doesn't prove a universal truth, obviously.

I think I posted this already, but worth posting again.

“What about when the life of the mother is at risk?” Honestly, this is the most difficult question to answer on the issue of abortion. First, let’s remember that this situation is the reason behind less than one-tenth of one percent of the abortions done in the world today. Far more women have an abortion for convenience than women who have an abortion to save their own lives. Second, let’s remember that God is a God of miracles. He can preserve the life of a mother and a child despite all the medical odds being against it. Ultimately, though, this question can only be decided between a husband, wife, and God. Any couple facing this extremely difficult situation should pray to the Lord for wisdom (James 1:5) as to what He would have them to do.

A heartbeat can be detected as early as 5 1/2 to 7 weeks, sounds like life to me. Formation of a fetus/baby begins as soon as conception is made. Would you not think then that it is not murder?

Over 95 percent of the abortions performed today involve women who simply do not want to have a baby. Less than 5 percent of abortions are for the reasons of rape, incest, or the mother's health at risk. Even in the more difficult 5 percent of instances, abortion should never be the first option. The life of a human being in the womb is worth every effort to allow the child to be born.

I found this many years ago and never wrote the source for this, but you can look it up.

So you think it's advisable to risk the life of the mother because a heartbeat is detected? Suppose the fetus has no lungs or kidneys? It will not survive outside of the womb. Should that fetus die a horrible, agonizing death when it could be prevented? Aborting that fetus is nor murder, it is mercy!

I loved Melissa's final words:

“There’s something deeply disturbing about the reality in our world that I have a right to an abortion but I never had the simple right to live.”

Is not the blood that flows through that heartbeat not life? When did so many decide to play God in order to end the life of another.

If a fetus has no lungs or kidneys that can be detected within 8 weeks when a heartbeat is detected then that baby would already be dead in the womb. They told my cousin to abort her baby because his kidneys were not functioning. She refused to abort and Greyson is now two years old and ready for a kidney transplant. I think it would have been murder if she aborted him as he had life flowing in him. The baby without lungs or kidneys had no life flowing in it as the lungs and heart work together to make sure the body has the oxygen rich blood it needs to function properly.

Even if I was not a Christian and got pregnant and ran the risk of dying in childbirth I would want my baby to live as my life would continue in my baby.

Performing necessary medical procedures is not "playing God". I would be dead if the surgeon who performed triple bypass surgery decided he wouldn't "play God" and let nature take its course. And I don't accept your medical diagnoses about pregnancy or any other medical situation. What are your qualifications? Do you have a medical degree?

You set yourself up as a judge of others; the only true judge is God.

So you are saying that the surgeon was playing God when he performed surgery on you, or am I misunderstanding what you said.

It doesn't matter to me what you don't want to accept and I am not judging anyone as that only belongs to God who judges those who murder others for no good reason. Life begins with the first heartbeat and who are we to take it away.

Be rational for a moment.
I’ve already established that there are legitimate medical situations where abortion should be at the discretion of the Mother. Primarily when the Mothers life is at risk. In this area, we are in agreement. You will get no argument from me in this area.

What I am talking about are the multitude of women who murder their children because they simply never wanted them.

Do you believe women with no medical reason should be allowed the same access to abortion as those with life threatening health concerns do?

Abortion is not murder. That is nothing but propaganda! It is a medical procedure that is done for medical reasons. How many mothers would you like to see die? That is murder!

I have said all I am going to say to you on this subject. If you want to ignore God's word on this then that is your choice.

a) You are not God.
b) I am not ignoring what the Bible says. You are misinterpreting it to agree with your foregone conclusion.

Do you believe mothers with no medical condition that threatens loss of their life should have access to abortions?

That is entirely up to the woman and her physician. Suppose the fetus has a fatal anomaly. Should the mother be forced to carry the fetus to term if it has zero chance of surviving outside the womb?

If the child has zero chance of surviving birth, then I think the child would naturally miscarry. They have medical procedures for that and they are not called abortions. I forgot the name.

Listen, I am open to to the Mother (and Father) having the option of Abortion for legitimate medical reasons where either Mother or Child are at risk of dying.

What I am not for, is allowing abortions to women who decide they simply don’t want the child.

a) You're wrong about the fetus naturally miscarrying.
b) There are many people who call the termination of a pregnancy, even for legitimate medical reasons, ABORTION!!! (As in abortion is murder!)
c) No birth practitioner that I know (and I know quite a few, since my wife was a nurse-midwife for decades) would abort a pregnancy because the woman simply didn't want the child.

That is the main fallacy of the belief by rabid anti-abortion people: they believe that they are righteous and holy, but others, including serious Christians, are not.

I do .
My wife's deceased friend was planning on aborting her oldest son who was healthy .my wife talked her out of it .

She was worried about her dad .yet her mother took her in and took care of them .
