Are you less of a Christian if you root your android phone, tablet or jailbreak your iPhone or iPad. I would say no because I pay good money for my phones and I should have full control over my phone or tablet, the company should not have a say so in what apps I can download or what apps that come with the phone that I can't get rid of. I have a Galaxy Note and they ain't cheap. AT&T has locked the bootloader so that you can't root them but there are ways to do it. I rooted my ZTE Zmax and I have jailbroken my iPad. Apple or AT&T or T-Mobile or Metro or who ever, is not going to tell me what to do with something that I paid for. Now Apple will allow you to jailbreak the iPhone but not the iPad does that make sense ? No
 
Of course there's nothing wrong with rooting. It's not illegal. The carriers don't want you to do it, but as long as you know you void your warranty and don't try to get around that, your fine. I accept that I void my warranty and root within hours of bringing any new device home.

The bloat ware that carriers force on your device is intolerable to me. Add to it functions that the carriers don't make available to you as well as better battery life, and rooting is a must for me. Also, you don't have to wait for Sprint and Verizon to push updates that Google makes available when you root.
 
I don't like rooting devices, because it does void the warranty and it's therefore not worth it to me.

I don't think it's morally wrong to root though. I don't believe it's against what your carrier/manufacturer say to you. But they simply say that it will void the warranty.

Well, it would be like if you had the ability to buy a standard def TV and rig it up to show programming in high def. You know you can't send it in to Samsung on warranty, but the TV is yours to tinker with all you want. You bought it.

As for a phone no longer being under warranty, if you do something stupid and jack it up, you can find deals on eBay to replace it. Rooting isn't all that risky if you're careful to flash the right roms for your device. It's the people who don't do their research and rush into things that get into trouble. Except for totally bricking a phone, there are usually ways to undo the damage.

I did when had my Galaxy S3, but Odin is only for Samsung devices as you know. I have an LG now, but that S7 looks good when it comes down in price. I usually go with the previous year's model when Sprint basically gives them away.

Yeah bro I am going to root this Galaxy Note 3 that I got from ebay brand new in a unopened box for $ 250 3 months ago. I think I will get a 5 in the late summer. This Galaxy Note is fantastic, but I want full control over it. I do not like what AT&T did with their bootloader what a bunch of idiots. They have made it so hard that some people are bricking their phones. Now when I had a ZTE Z Max, T-Mobile tried to harden up their bootloader but I was able to get to it using one click Kingroot and after the SU deal I jumped right in there with Titanium and did my thing. I keep seeing all these one click roots online and ebay but none of them work for my model number Note.
 
Thanks and I am on XDA but I didn't see that one thanks, but I have tried Kingo Root already and Towelroot. Now I have a Note 3-SM N900A so my search is for what will crack that model besides Odin
