similar to Hale groves. I think I might talk my wife and monica for a visit. I have bahhed with the goat they talk about. some saw that and thought it was funny.

Weather happens, so no worries, jasonc :wave2
I have two. I will post them. i wanted to post an old cracker home, repo'd by the county,it was likely a grove home. the home shown that is fully shown was also part of Peterson's groves and is empty. its just north of that grove and farm. it also had groves. they mention groves. i wonder where they have them Petersons had groves from its current location to nearly the river at one time. he lost a lot during ww2. the navy base/airport is where he took a lot. i need to ask them when i go there. or shoot my fil would know. he mentioned axl Peterson in his stories of the airbase.

first this one i took is from the south. its an old grove home. if you remember the story about the horse and me trying to keep it in the corral. this home is just west of that. the lots for both were once together. im not sure who had this home first. i know via google earth up to 94 there was groves there and active.

ah i did get the Australian pines. good. that is a definite evidence that a grove was there. to the west also had groves. long ago that home was left to rot. though google earth still shows the roof of it still there. it is completely surrounded on all sides save the south by these pines. it too was a grove.tommorow i will post the family home that is as old near the mall and its story. my fil childhood home. his brother and nephews live near this home still and his sister lived until her death in that old home.

*sigh* Must be nice to live amongst the palms!

The only palm 'tree' I have is a Madagascar palm. It was about 5 inches tall when I received it ... it was in distress at the time ... and now it is about a foot & a half tall. I transplanted it last year ... talk about heavy! It needs to be transplanted again, but it's going to take a helper to assist me. I learned that Madagascar palms can grow to 6 ft indoors, which is where I have to keep it during late autumn, winter, and early spring. It loves the sunshine!

I think I have of those. Keep it mind only ONE specie of palms are native.it's edible too.

Thankfully, it will take quite the while before the one I have reaches 5 ft.
I can't even imagine what sort of pot would be required for the M. palm at 5 ft.
