He doesn't look like he's been there for a long time. I'd agree with your guestimation of about 5 years in that spot.

My Madagascar palm toppled during this move. It was a real struggle to get it re-potted properly. It's rather heavy, and only about 3 feet tall.

Can't plant it outside.... it wouldn't survive Illinois winters.

Re-potting will be fine for a little while longer. But when its weight becomes too much to handle, an alternative place for it will have to be found.

Just happened to think of a botanical garden in the Quad Cities .... they might be happy with the donation!

The home I have talked about, pre ww1 home.i use it for a reference to find a home to the south in old arials .

Sorry to hear about the nasty dogs. That's really sad. Sure wish people would train & treat their dogs properly.
They aren't miss treated . they are mean.they have forced me to retreat from that very area.when I read the colonial heights route I uses to skip the home unless I saw the south gate open then I went to read it.this has a shed west of it thar is a barn slash workshop with some old lamps.the owner told him the home is old . knowing that I will use it to find other things.it's a easy spot.I have it still on a photo and point it out.
