This guy was huge, one of three,he is alive when I took this.he moved when I stepped by him, then froze until he sees me again.View attachment 7512

Blue crab
Also edible. He would be dinner if I could catch him and store him.a bucket of ocean water to keep him alive until ready to serve.they are boiled alive like lobsters

As much as I like lobster and crab, I just can't bring myself to tossing a live critter into a pot of boiling water.

They poison the meat as they have a gland that does that if they are cut open.it ruins the taste.you can cut open a lobster to remove all organs and slice the legs and tail off.also crabs, lobsters ,shrimp, crawdads, are mud eaters.boiling gets them to spit that out.you have never heard them scream at a seafood place?

I knew they screamed (who wouldn't!), but thankfully, the restaurants were always busy, so noise from the kitchens didn't travel to the seating area.

Small restaurants.where was it when I heard that first time?ah ninos

A former/late sister-in-law said that the apple trees in her small orchard screamed as they were being ripped out of the ground.

Here,my favorite but there are several of these spanish style homes I couldn't take .a large one with a three car garage isn't shown.View attachment 7520

I like the 3 windows diagonally positioned to provide natural light along the staircase. Quite stunning building.
Twin it has another behind it buts it's stair case is more hidden.none of these are identical. Yet have similar features.you would have loved the old humiston home
It has a larger stair case but also three windows.it's twin is shown.

I rather like large stair cases. One of my favorite designs is the twin staircases, one on either side of the grand foyer.

Stair cases in so many homes today are basic, serviceable, but without the flair and the dramatic flow of many earlier stair cases.

The golf course ,nor shown, but I will in a few minutes post it via Google earth,is the oldest in our county .these homes have deeds with the spanish survey measurements of florida.the vero beach country club is a reference point in all Arial Topos from ww2.it's been around since 1919,only Riomar golf course is nearly as old.both predate the split of Indian River county

How cool would that be to own a home that has a deed with the Spanish survey measurements!
