Sabbath is a Sign Between God and Israel - WHO IS ISRAEL?

YES! THE SABBATH IS A SIGN BETWEEN GOD AND ISRAEL, BUT DIDN'T YOU KNOW THAT ALL WHO ARE IN CHRIST BECOME PART OF ISRAEL?

Did you know that when all saved believers walk through the gates of New Jerusalem, we will walk through the gates of New Jerusalem, we will walk through a gate that bears the name of one of the tribes of Israel? That's right! All of the twelve gates of New Jerusalem are named after the twelve tribes of Israel (Revelation 21:12). So we will ALL walk through a particular gate that bares a name of one of the tweves tribes. Why? Have you ever wondered? The answer is very simple, as the Bible confirms that when we accept Jesus Christ as the Son of God and our Lord and Saviour, we become 'grafted in' as part of TRUE Israel. And I will explain why I said 'TRUE' Israel. But what does this have to do with the Sabbath? Let me share a recent quote with you from a popular 'Christian' ministry in America:

"Are you a child of one of the 12 tribes of the nation of Israel from the Old Testament? That's super-important because the sabbath, which God repeatedly tells Moses is a 'sign between me and the children of Israel ', is not given to anyone who is not a child of one of the 12 tribes of Israel. If you answered yes, congrats! You may continue with the test. If you answered no, game over, you're definitely not a biblical keeper because you don't qualify. Sorry"

I haven't given the source to this quote, because I'm not prepared to send people to a ministry that promotes gross error. And the ignorance in the above quote is astonishing! To believe that God's Sabbath promise was to the literal nation of Israel alone, you have to be completely ignorant of the original purpose of the 7th day Sabbath and WHO it was 'made' for. But before we get into that, let us take a look at WHO is true Israel today.

New Jerusalem has ... "a wall great and high, and had TWELVE GATES, and at the gates twelve angels, and NAMES WRITTEN THEREON, WHICH ARE THE NAMES OF THE TWELVE TRIBES OF THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL." (Revelation 21:12)

Is there any other gate by which you can enter New Jerusalem? No.

ALL saved will pass under one of those names of Israel. And when you understand what the names refer to and that all who come to Christ, whether Jew or Gentile, are grafted into the tree, becoming part of true Israel, then it makes sense. So what does a name signify? Let us look at the name 'Israel' itself. Who was that originally given to? It was given to Jacob, the father of the twelve tribes. And why was Jacob given the name 'Israel'? Let's take a look:

Genesis 32:24-28.

Why was Jacob's NAME changed to Israel? Because he had 'prevailed' during his time of trouble. He had repented of his sin against Esau and he clung on to God until God blessed him. Jacob OVERCAME! His CHARACTER had changed from 'Jacob' (a supplanter) to 'Israel' (to contend with God and OVERCOME by faith). Many professed Christians today do not understand the significance of this. They simply believe that the name Israel only applies to the literal nation of the flesh, which is why they don't understand the truth about the 7th day Sabbath. We will all walk through a gate of New Jerusalem which bares one of the names of the twelve tribes of Israel, because when we OVERCOME through Christ, we become 'grafted in' to true Israel and bear that name also.

WHO ARE TRUE ISRAEL TODAY?

Romans 9:6-8.

"They are not all Israel which are of Israel." Do you see TWO Israel's there?

Paul clearly mentions TWO Israels is in Romans 9 above. The one Israel is the Israel of the flesh, as in the natural decedents of Abraham. The other Israel is TRUE Israel - those who have truly been converted, just like Jacob and are overcomers through Christ Jesus our Lord, as Christ is THE SEED through which the promises were made. So the promises were not given to people simply because of their ancestry. The promises were ALL THROUGH Jesus Christ, who was THE SEED of which all nations would be blessed. And through Christ we ALL become true Israel, look:

Romans 2:29. Galatians 3:28-29.
So who are the 'children of Israel'? ANYONE who is in Christ Jesus.

1 Corinthians 12:13. Romans 11:17.

The apostle Paul was a 'Jew of Jews' and yet he clearly understood the truth that through Jesus Christ we ALL, Jew and Gentile become ONE body - TRUE ISRAEL. We all become part of that 'one tree'. Simply being a Jew of the flesh meant nothing without faith in Jesus Christ, which is why many were 'broken off.' Just because someone may be an Israelites of the flesh, doesn't automatically mean they are God's children, as Paul said in Romans 9. Only through faith and surrender of life to God do we become His children and TRUE Israel.

So when God says that the Sabbath is a 'sign between me and the children of Israel forever', who is God speaking about? He is clearly speaking of TRUE Israel, that 'one body' of believers who are heirs through THE SEED, which is Jesus Christ.

John 10:16

If there was to be 'one fold', and Gentiles are 'grafted in' to the tree and we all become 'one in Christ Jesus', then what do we become through Christ Jesus', ISRAEL! A people who 'contend with God and overcome' through faith! This is what 'Israel' means.

So going back to that quote above about the Sabbath only being for Israel. YES! That is true. But what they sadly don't understand is that we ALL become Israel through Christ Jesus, being 'grafted in' and 'partakers of the olive tree.' WHICH is why we all pass through a gate of New Jerusalem that bares a name of the twelve tribes of Israel. And YES! The Sabbath IS a 'sign between God and HIS people Israel.' But by rejecting this truth that we all become Israel through Christ and by rejecting the 7th day Sabbath which God placed as a sign between Him and His people, many professed Christians are ultimately saying they are NOT God's people! Just like the Jews of the flesh. They wanted to make their OWN way and many professed Christians today are making the same mistake!

Jesus didn't say that the Sabbath was made for the Jews of the flesh. He said 'the Sabbath was made FOR MAN.' (Mark 2:27). Which means the Sabbath was made for ALL MANKIND. All BY FAITH turn to God and worship Him in spirit and truth. And when was the Sabbath 'made'? It was made at creation week. How many Jews of the flesh were there at creation week? None! So when God says the Sabbath is for a 'sign between Me and Israel forever' (Exodus 31:17), He is saying it is a sign between Him and His people - his TRUE people, whoever they are. People who partake of the SAME ROOT, which is Jesus Christ. The Sabbath is a sign of FAITH in God's ways, not man's. So have you are now part of Israel and the Sabbath IS a sign between YOU and God.

As those in the OT were commanded to keep one day a week holy, the Israel this OP pertains to is OT Israel...the nation.
We can now keep every day holy, as the fleshly heart and mind of the NT Church by Christ Jesus (Eph 3:21) has been crucified with the affections and lusts.
We are spiritual all the time so have no need to keep only one day a week holy anymore.

How are we spiritual ' all the time '?

What does being ' spiritual' mean?
That one is always conciously worshipping God, or always aware of his presence?

As the flesh has been killed, we walk in the Spirit.
Those reborn of God's seed cannot manifest the seed of Adam anymore.

Those who walk in the Spirit, instead of in the flesh, are always aware from whence they are reborn...especially during a time of temptation or want.
But also during good times of pleasure and health.
We don't focus on the things this earth...or any darkness, has to offer.

Col 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
Col 3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
Col 3:3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
Col 3:4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

Genesis 2:
1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished and all the host of them.
2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

Sabbath is the seventh day, which by our calendar makes it a Saturday. It is the day God rested after creating everything including man and woman. God sanctified it meaning He set it apart form all the other days as a day He rested from all His work. From the time of Adam to that of Mt. Sinai it was never commanded as being a holy day or that all mankind was to rest on that day. It was a holy day as God being Holy and rested that day.

The Hebrew Sabbath was instituted by God given to Moses in Exodus 16 as a day that started from Friday at sunset to Saturday at sunset as a day of remembrance or a memorial of the Exodus exile as God parted the sea bringing the Hebrews to the promised land by defeating their foes. Hebrews used a Lunar Calendar that is different from our Gregorian calendar we use today.

The Sabbath was a ceremonial law practiced and that of the Old Covenant, the same covenant that circumcised and sacrificed animals. Some may literally circumcise, but we do not sacrifice animals anymore. This ceremonial law was only for Israel and not the Gentiles as now under the new covenant that joins Israel and Gentiles together under the grace of God the ceremonial laws no longer exist as Jesus is now our sacrifice whom we find rest in.

Matthew 12:1-8; Mark 2:27, 28 The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: we find our sabbath rest in Christ.

Do what you think is good. Keep holding the Roman Catholic Sunday Sabbath. I will keep my God Saturday Sabbath.

I thought the sign from God to us was.
The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children.

The Sabbath wasn't just about worship it was a absence of work a day of rest. So even Mass or Sunday Church services in itself is not keeping the sabbath.

We know from Jesus that the Sabbath was made for man. Man was not made for the sabbath and that Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath.

In regard to a Sabbath's day walk how far are "you" allowed to travel on the Sabbath?

If you are a father, and you have your rules at home. What should you do if your child break your rules, by saying that someone says that it is done with dad rules. Give me your answer

If the "Lord", not SDA, commanded me to start keeping the sabbath then I'm In, but neither He nor His apostles commanded the gentile believers to do so. So clearly we reject your premise of disobedience in that regard.
In fact you rejected Paul's writing in not to allow any to judge you in regard to a sabbath day. And Paul gave the full counsel of the Lord. So if one comes along 1800 years later and gives additional instruction in the name or prophecy I don't believe in them. I have the Spirit of Christ in me and He is capable of communicating to me. I have no need of prophets or other teachers.

Now how about you start answering all the questions asked of you. I don't care if you want to keep the sabbath. But you are preaching to others to do the same in regard to righteousness sake. You in that are mistaken and have fallen away from grace.

If you have a relationship with Christ Jesus as in, He in you and you in Him, then again I suggest to you, ask Him for a judgment.

Remember the Sabbath was added to the ten commandments by God as a remembrance, not a commandment, of all God did in six days and rested on the seventh, Genesis 2:1-3; Matthew 12:1-13. Nothing more, nothing less.

Pipiripi here is a question to you. In Matthew 12:1-14 did Jesus break any sabbath law as the Pharisees claimed He did, or is He Lord of the sabbath in whom is our rest as we are told by God to remember all that God did in six days and rested on the seventh?

No, God didn't say remember all the other days. The only day that God said to remember is the Sabbath day my friend. God knows that people will forget to rest and have time with Him. And that is exactly what happened and today many people don't know what Sabbath is. The most of all think that is Jesus, because Jesus said He is Lord of the Sabbath. We all know that Jesus is Lord above everything that is created. God said REMEMBER AND KEEP IT HOLY. Trinitarians thinking that the promise with Abraham is eternal. Why not the Sabbath created by the 7th day? The 7th day was created for time for God. Six days is for us, the seventh is God day not our day.

Did Paul have keep the Sabbath day?

Did Paul have keep the Sabbath day?
Have to as in for salvation sake - no
Did he - probably as that's how he was raised - a Pharisee

Do I have to "add" keeping the sabbath to be saved - NO
I have the Spirit of Christ in me which I received by faith in Jesus - I know Him and He is the one who judges.

Did Paul write do not let anyone judge you by a Sabbath day?

Why stop at the Sabbath Pipiripi?
What do you think Paul thought of the Passover and the feast of unleavened bread?
Christ is our Passover lamb.
Do we need to keep the feast of unleavened bread to be righteous before God?
1 Corinthians 5:8
“Let us keep the feast , not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth”

Its faith expressing itself through love not works of the law. A righteousness that is credited to us by faith in Christ Jesus. A righteousness that is from first to last by faith.

If righteousness could be obtained by keeping ALL these commands between God and Israel Christ Jesus died for nothing.

Do not let anyone judge you in regard to these religious festival's or a Sabbath day for they were a shadow of things to come the reality is found in Christ Jesus.
The righteous will live by faith.
