shad said:Glory,
You are misusing the scriptures to correct Jesus' commandments. You should use the Scripture to glorify Jesus, not free pass to sin.
Let me ask you this: Do you think you can get into God's kingdom without being holy and rightous?
1 Peter 2:9 said:But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;
Golly, just pull up any of Shad's and you'll see it every time.Panin said:Show us one post in this thread where anyone has said they dont care about sinning?shad said:glorydaz said:I have to say...I've never seen so many people so worried about other people's sins, have you?
You'd think their job was keeping US on the straight and narrow instead of themselves. :biglaugh
It does not bother you that people who are claiming to be Christians don't care about sinning? Christians are supposed to be shining out and glorifying God and Jesus.

Here I am...where are you?

Do you manifest this holiness ?
and..........
If you are seated in the heavenlies, do you exercise your authority in Christ over the curse and succeed? That is what you are claiming here.
I am asking you this, because the Bible says that people who claim this to be so, must indeed walk as Jesus walked.1Jn 2:6 he that saith he abideth in him (that would be you ! ) ought himself also to walk even as he walked. (Do you? )
1 John 1:7-10 said:But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
glorydaz said:Are you claiming any man besides our Lord will ever lead a perfect life?
Are you attempting to make me out a liar by asking me to say I have no sin?
Even worse, are you asking me to make Him out a liar?
I won't say that. What I will say is I'm covered by the blood so I am clean from all sin.

Oh well - I'll put my hand up - even though the question is directed to another . . .
Yes! And not only is it possible, but we should!

I meant any one on the side of Eternal secruity, where has any of us stated that sin is okay?Show us one post in this thread where anyone has said they dont care about sinning?
Golly, just pull up any of Shad's and you'll see it every time.
He's so hung up on other people's sin he has no time to see his own. :biglaugh
Cornelius said:I will rephrase the question:

Panin said:No, but it is Christ that is my Holyness and Righteousness, not my good works that have got me into heaven. And I am already there.
Do you think your works are what saves you and gets you into heaven? This must mean that you think you are holy and righteous enough person to get into heaven. Do you?

Talk about arrogance. You are claiming yourself holy and righteous. Jesus is the one who judges if you are indeed holy and righteous.
Here I am...where are you?
You dont seem to know where you are in Christ, obviously.
1 Peter 2:9 said:5Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. 6Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. 7Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, 8And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. 9But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light; 10Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

Colossians 1:27 said:To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
You have provided zero Biblical evidence that when God (in Christ) judges us, He will base his verdict on the issue of whether we have believed.glorydaz said:Drew, you continue to insist Rom. 2 and 2 Cor. say something they do not. Paul does not, in any way, say ultimate salvation is based on good works. A believers WORK is to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.
Againl, you have provided no evidence for this at all. The materrial in 1 Corinthians 3 - where people are saved even though their "works" to do pass muster - is directed specifically to Christian leaders and teachers. Check the context - Paul is not talking human beings in general and "good works" in general here - he is addressing a very specific issue and saying that if the leaders go astray in their function as leaders, this will not mean ultimate loss.glorydaz said:We will be rewarded for the fruit produced by the Holy Spirit through us...our works of faith, but that does not affect our eternal life. We're eternal right now if we are His.
glorydaz said:See? There you go denying the very Word of God, once again.
