Is it rude for me to want to punch each one of those people who believe in Scientology in the face for believing a fricken moron that is a science fiction writer that said an Alien named XENU will save us on a spaceship?! LOL

Give me your opinions on this? I think it's dang hilarious! Who can be this dang stupid?!

Well, it says in the Bible to love your enemies. It is a very silly religion from the little I know from it. I can't believe some of the folks who are into it. The best we can do is pray that they find out the truth.

It really does make you slap your own forehead and say duhhh.

I really, honestly believe that the bible is the greatest book for proving human stupidity.

I have made 3 rules that I live by, it makes it easier in a joyful pessismistic sort of way. Every single human being, including myself falls under these rules.

Rule #1. People are stupid
Rule #2. People are incredibly stupid
Rule #3. People work incredibly hard to be stupid

... or as Ron White says, "You can't fix stupid."

All kidding aside, I not a big fan of Scientology (an understatement) but I wouldn't go as far as wanting to hit them or call them morons. That's just not right. :-?

Mat 22:39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

thanks Christine

Well I was trying to make a point without reusing the word! :)

Moron (môrn, mr-) n

1. A stupid person; a dolt.
2. Psychology. A person of mild mental retardation having a mental age of from 7 to 12 years and generally having communication and social skills enabling some degree of academic or vocational education. The term belongs to a classification system no longer in use and is now considered offensive.

I don't think I'd go as far to call them moron's. Actually, intellectually they are some pretty smart people as a whole.

Instead of punching them, try talking logically to them about the gospel. If your that angry, stay away from them as they are masters at manipulating a conversation even when you think you've got control of the conversation.

Maku, I'm assuming you know sombody in $cientology?

Yeah about half the celebs in HollyWood, but the problem there is that people LOOK UP to them and may become involved and there go a few more souls down the toilet!!!! >=[

Maku,
People look up to other people. That's what we do by nature. Think back at all the people that you've looked up to through your life. It's really no different in concept, just the application, or target is different.

I was on hold last wednesday ordering parts from a supply house in Southern Ca and they had a local talk radio station playing and they were talking about all the celeb's in Hollywood. It was almost like they were idolizing them. Truly, this was a wake up call to me, so let me ask you. Would $cientology be getting the glamor from Celebrity Centre if the general media didn't make such a hype about the celebrities?

Most likely not.

I agree with your response… Most likely not.

Now, I don’t want to push blame here because L. Ron Hubbard will have his day in front of the almighty, but if we humans, we sentient beings have this inner desire that drives us natively to look up to other people, then I’d venture to say that this is this same desire that leads us to worship.

Let me ask, what is the difference between worship and idolatry? Perhaps it’s just the object? Some people worship the one true God, while others idolatrize their automobiles, their jobs, and their status quo while they try and keep up with the Jones’. Others follow after some spaceship and are told they are stuck on some pole out in an unknown galaxy. Would you like a cup of Kool-Aid or perhaps a pair of Nike’s? Call them morons if you will, but I call them lost and instead of slugging them, I resist that urge and look at them in empathy.

The problem is, we are sentient beings and that same trigger that led you to God, may have been the same internal trigger that let them to $cientology or any other cult or form of idolatry.

Do you still feel like slugging them?

If men's minds are not full of the truth they will try to fill them with something. Usually what tickles their ears. Truth comes by the grace of God, being born from above. To one whom it is not given and who believes something nutty we should have mercy and compassion for them, asking God to enlighten them and give them the grace for truth. So no I don't think punching them in the face is a proper response, though I do understand where you are coming from. It can be frustrating at times.

Well the way I see it
If tom cruise is their pastor it does not say much about their cult.
second, if he was bright enough to name his child suri which means Pick pOCKET in japaneese, shows how dumb he really is. I would use the word stupid but it might be to harsh.

I just have to say that the whole scientology thing gives me giggle fits.

The way I understand it, the whole thing started a little like this:

A mediocre sci-fi writer criticised another mediocre sci-fi writer at a convention for making stuff up about God in his books. Mediocre writer #2 said to mediocre writer #1 that everything was about God and so on and so forth. So Mediocre Writer #1 said it was stupid since anyone could make up a religion.

Mediocre writer #1 is of course, L. Ron Hubbard (who didn't really believe his own pile of dung anyway).

Mediocre writer #2 was Frank Herbert (who has everything in common with the morons who wrote the 29834729387 books that DIDN'T make it into the bible)

So every time you think of Scientology, realize that it's Frank Herbert's fault and L. Ron Hubbard is still up there laughing his butt off.

Just saying.

Ha! isn't that a riot!

LRh's view is because of the government and psychiatry! It's all the fault of those darn Russians :smt074 errr... Germans

Just tell them that you believe that GOD created the entire Universe in 6 twentyfour hour days; that Noah and his family and a bunch of animals were saved on an wooden ark; that GOD chose the nation of Israel over everyone else, that GOD the Father sent HIS ONLY Son to suffer and die for all humanity; that CHRIST rose from the dead and is coming again. If Scientologist laugh at you, tell them that at least the LORD JESUS CHRIST doesn't need a spaceship.

Funny, I was browsing through some of my old photo's last night and found this. (I'm the one on the right and my older brother Jim on the left)
Can anyone guess where it was taken or who the (can't remember the name of it) statue of the head in the middle is?

I'm always amazed, though not perfect by any means... how God has changed my life.

My Guess would be that you are at a scientolgy worship center

Well, currently I'm stuck at work waiting...

But to be more exact Oscar, the Picture was taken ohh, I'm guessing 12 or so years ago at the L.A. Org which is next to the A.S.H.O. in Hollywood Ca. that I helped build side by side with the sea org for 6 months.
The bust is LRH.

Like I said, I'm not perfect... but God isn't done with me yet.
