Should Christians watch MTV with all the girls shakin' their butts in rap music videos? I tend to think it should be avoided.

i was the same way and would even laugh at that. i loved to watched beavis and butthead and liquid television with aeon flux.ChristianTurtle said:Funny, I remember MTV's popularity in the 80s and how the older crowd would say it was so bad. I would laugh at that. Now as I'm older I feel like they did (Yes, I feel old). The shows today are terrible!
A show about school pranks & the one show about the parents choosing their kids dates as their current boyfriend/girlfriend is rude and crude to their parents! Now a 16 & Pregnant show!
What are we teaching and influencing our children today?!

At the same time though, it's really hard to justify a Christian using the internet. Avenue Q put it bluntly:
"The Internet is for porn"
Jokes aside though, I haven't watch it in years. If it was about music, I would watch it. Instead, they should call it FRLTV (Fake Reality Life). I saw a show where these parents were tired of their child's relationship, so they went out in an attempt to break it up for a new person.
if men did that i certainly would surely never ever in a million yrs whatch that, as i have no desire to return to my vomit. and those of faith pray that i remove all the old gods in my life.AskTheA said:MTV is pretty bland. Pop music has almost always catered to a lower common denominator. It's not a rap thing, it's just that only the lamest rap would get played on mtv. It's strange how they don't show guys shaking their butts, only women.
