Would subjecting those who justify his release to being guilty of future similar killings by him and serving prison time with him. The experts that make such judgments are paid to be right. We might soon find many less experts on human character with those rules thrown into the mix.

I guess I should count myself lucky. I only threatened to kill someone, but I didn't. I stopped it. Speaking from the other side of the fence, I know how out-of-control mental disease can make you. I was the most in-control person I knew before my TBI.

Those are the people who should never have guns.I was at a gas pump a couple of years ago and some guy got so mad because he thought he should have had that pump that I thought he was going to shoot me.

It's different now because I know it's the brain injury causing the impulses (before that I only knew it was causing my physical problems). I think it should be noted that I chose not to kill before I knew that.

The impulses are down to basically nothing now. Maybe I should also note that I did not do this to myself. It was a friend driving his sister's high-powered sports car and a "Watch this!" moment I'll never forget. What happened to me could happen to anyone.

But Killing Your Own Mom, that just does something to me. Kind of like this idiot here in Philly about 8 or 10 years ago raped his own grand mother and then killed here. He should have been put in front of a firing squad.

I attacked a close family member 6 years ago. I'd been electroshocked and tortured in mental hospitals. He survived and I went to Teen challenge to be rehabilitated. I don't know this dudes mental health history, but I think it'd be a good idea to focus on rehabilitation (for both mentally ill and mentally healthy people) instead of on punishment, whenever possible.

I am sorry for your accident.That has to be very difficult.But if you put your life in God's hands it will be easier to bear.

That is what the Courtroom and our judges and attorneys are for.They are given a sentence.

those are anything but. the government doesn't run those courses. its private persons and groups whom do that. aa/na aren't part of the government.

well...OK...psychiatric hospitals seem to do one of two things: let people out sooner than a prison would or 2) abuse people and keep them forever. The few data I've seen on it indicate that shrinks aren't that good at predicting relapse or violence. That said, the way the law works in NGRI, if you're treated and treatment can be continued in the community (they'd probably keep him on a long acting injectable by court order), then you're supposed to be released.
