Have you ever been in a situation where someone has tried to take your life? I have and it is scary. It's easy to say what you would do until you face such a situation. Having Jesus is the end result if you are persecuted to death, but yet there is still a fear factor involved as it's the fear within us that cries out to Jesus for help.
Your response to facing death is rather different from my own.
That's a foolish question, seriously. School mass shooters aren't known for doing their deed by holding their gun to one person's head at a time. You paint a picture of people lining up, taking a number, and waiting their turn.
Almost as absurd is the self-defense training that gives people a false sense of security about being able to go one on one, bare-handed, against an armed assailant and winning. (While it may be possible, it is the most dire of circumstances and to be avoided at all costs, obviously)
Have you ever had someone try to kill you and if so how did you respond to it?Your response to facing death is rather different from my own.

Yes I was many years ago when I worked with the mentally handicapped.
For cryin' out loud! Read what you, yourself just wrote. You are correct. And where do most kids see it for hours every single day of the week?Ok, I don't think handicapped people are the ones preying upon our schools? (Or anywhere else)
People in the field I know come into contact with violent perpetrators more often affected by intrusive thoughts moreso than what you said about
violence brings thoughts of violence ... and they act out what they see.
That's more like trauma. And there are copycat killers. School shooters seem to be big on the copycat variety of crime, but that doesn't establish video games as a cause.

If I may ask how were you almost killed by the hands of another and military wars do not count as that is different then what we are talking about.Yes, you can gather that from context. Just as obviously, I won. Every time.

You said you worked with the handicapped. Usually, that is not how we talk about mental illness.Do you not think these school shooters are not mentally disturbed? Seriously!!!
Have you had criminal intent training? A disturbed young mine that is curious can become your next shooter as they act out the violent games they play.

I agree. I for one am mentally handicapped. I'm just not quite sure if it's the same thing as being mentally ill.

We do know for a fact every one of these mass shooters is mentally ill; the definition of 'behavioral illness' sees to that.
Do we know enough about the development of mental illness to be able to say playing video games contributes? I realize this is a shift of topic, I just think it must develop somehow ...
If you want I could call those I worked with retarded, but mentally handicapped or mentally disabled is a nicer way of putting it, but even still I had to go through training and self defense classes.
These shooters do not have clinical mental issues, but issues with society from built up rage against their tormentors and not a mental illness. In some cases violent games and TV violence feeds this rage as they strike out to take revenge.
