What is a fair wage for the lowest earners?. At the end of a working week if people live in a house, sleep in a bed, and have some food, that's not poverty. It's called surviving. Yet many call it poverty. Many cry poverty yet they have a iPhone 7, a bed to sleep, and a hot shower.

Just because people work a full week and at the end of the week after paying everything and they they got nothing left, is not poverty.

If people work all week and have to live on the streets and have no money for food that's poverty. But if people work and live on the streets or in a car they got no rent so should have heaps of money saving on rent.

I can barely control my own actions...I can't be held responsible for someone else's.
I don't set up leaders or depose them.
I don't set market rates for skilled or unskilled labor.
I'm barely in charge of me....and mostly just my attitude.

Or in,my,case by choice my,wife being older I,loved her married her and has health issues.

I,should make 80 grand entry level .the other guy shouldn't pay more to me .life can't be made fair .

My,grandparents having been poor ,toiled ,they gave us money if in an,emergency they invested money ,sheesh .

I plan to make way more using my,mind .why kill my body when i can use my brain and simply pay a few hundred and start over already making more .water or sewer ,it won't get me a mansion but i will make more. Others like my in law ,cousins are investors and sell insurance as well.they learned the market and guide others to save,grow their money ,people do loose ,but also gain .my mom,a retired bell,south employee took,her money from that and invested it .it now supports her and she makes more then I do.

But she us greedy ,I guess,a cwa retiree.on my advise

Years ago, I used to make time and a half for overtime, and double time for hours worked in excess of 12 hours. Now because the politicians have legally rigged the system, they can classify the job differently and pay a salary instead. No more overtime pay, just the extra hours worked to the profit of the investors.

My job usually doesn't ,but unless its holiday or a job such as water ,sewer ,that have diferrential pay ,shift work ,then its tax payers who pay that not investors they pay by either higher sales taxes,ad valorem,or utility rates,

That was probably contracted to be like that .12 hours a day done it ,military ,24/7 no overtime .i quit once i saw fit ,though it didn't turn out ,the paper route I was working. Part time ,no,sick time ,no,benrfites,contracted work.I,choose that .not at gun point .they made cuts ,they charged me more for customer complaints then I was paid. Left leaning fair wage supporting news papers.the economy,went south and they had to cut the part time guys with benefits. The original conservative leaning local family was much better but that was before my time,and also a better paper .16 cents to throw,5 bucks charged for a complaint ,that was Scripps,Gannett dropped it two bucks and added one penny to deliver still ,and they don't even redeliver when I quit.

I have a minimum wage (high market rate for the skills I have in the field I work in) that I am willing to work for.

That's the only minimum wage I have an opinion on.

Other than that I don't even know what it is for unskilled people.

So I have no opinion.

If I couldn't afford to live here I would move to another area where I could make a living wage for my skills.

And I still don't understand how this is relevant.

The poor are poor because they make poor decisions that ensure they remain poor.

It's been true for thousands of years...

No training in any field for a career...or even cross training for a separate career...sure way to be poor when it's the least convenient.

I remember when an electronics technician was a great career. Now it's not a field at all but something that a good electrician can do.
Figure out what board is bad and get the part number to replace it.
If you are even going to try to fix it.... usually you just replace the whole Gizmo.
