should we lift the dont ask dont tell ban

first reason for me:

some chaplain must be gay, and i have problem with that as in country, a good bible believing one is essential.

all hope may be quenched for some after they have put the remains of their fellow soldier in a box, yes this happened where i was at. one needs to have the light of christ in them to pray for them.

i avoided apostate chapel services like the plague

some chaplains are in it for the money and rank. a chaplain gains rank quickly, a good bible believing one is hard to find.

when i was in country i wanted to be uplifted and needed to hear the thus saith the lord, not what thus saith man.

yes, if a chaplain is no good i would still send a soldier in need of counsel as chaplians also must deal with other things then minister, they also deal with some soldiers with mental health issues as they refer them over, and are trained in other areas as well.

morale and welfare of the troops is one thing they check as well

I served and we could usually tell those who were gay. One guy put doilies all over his room and knick nacks. The 1stSgt hit the fan. No, I don't think it should be lifted. When it combat you want to know your buddy is watching your back, not watching your backside. It would make things way too weird

1 Armor Divison 3BRD 70th Eng Ft Riley KS. Combat Engineer. did 2 tours 03 when Iraq first kicked off then again in 05

12b, wonderful combat engineer. laying mines and recovering them.

anyway back to topic
i will aslo mention more reasons aside from the first later. as i must think of more, i have a few more but i want to contemplate how i will present them

What's the "Don't ask, Don't tell" ban? I can think of several things that could be. :eyebrow

My opinion on whatever it is probably won't matter much since I'm not Christian, but I'm still curious.

Edit: *slapsforehead* Nevermind.

It should. The reason is simple. Banning open homosexuals from the military is straight out telling them they are not good enough to defend their country. They aren't American enough. They don't deserve the honor of fighting with their brethren. Thier country is ashamed of them. They don't contribute to the nation. They aren't human.

You can go on and on about how you are afraid of how they would interact, but it all boils down to this.

Whats the point of a nation claiming it supports freedom of expresion, religion, and love of its fellow man, when it dosen't allow all of its fellow man to protect it?

I think we should start a gay military and see how that turns out.

I don't want to fight alongside women, homosexuals, or antique furniture.

I was field artilery and military police for a spell. MP's had women, but they were seperated except when on duty. Field artilery had none and I didn't know any homosexuals while in either.

Why am I less of a citizen then you? Why don't I get to protect our country as well?

I haven't been on this forum long but I have sure read a lot of it in the past few days. Are you on this forum to try and change us. It seems like in all your post you press your point of view on any who will listen. Why do you even care? Go live your life how you see fit. I'll pray that you repent your ways and find God but stop trying to get others to see homosexuality as not being a sin. I can read... Are you expecting me to go against the word of the bible?

Who said you couldn't Lance?

Lev 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.
Lev 18:23 Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion.
Lev 18:24 Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you:

The policiy itself, and you did. You said you didnt' want to serve with homosexuals. I could never share any information about who i love, who is waiting for me back home, etc. If I did, I'd be thrown out.

I am not trying to change people's religion. Nor have I said homosexual sex isn't a sin. What I'm trying to do is show that we are people to. The only diferance between us is who we are attracted to. That is it.
It seems like in all your post you press your point of view on any who will listen. Why do you even care?
Because society cares. There are laws that directly ban me from serving in the military, giving blood, marrying, and adopting.
Go live your life how you see fit.
I can't, there are laws prohibiting me from doing so.
I'll pray that you repent your ways and find God but stop trying to get others to see homosexuality as not being a sin. I can read... Are you expecting me to go against the word of the bible?
Highlight and post where I said it wasn't a sin. I never said it wasn't. If saying homosexuals are people is the same as saying its not a sin, then I'm guilty of trying to defend them as humans.

The policy doesn't say you can't join the military Lance, you can. You just won't because you won't be allowed to gloat about your homosexual lifestyle. (living homosexually). Thank God! :salute

I don't want to be sitting in a foxhole with some dude rambling on about his man back home......... :grumpy
