Shoutlife?

Does anyone have a Shoutlife page, if so what do you think. For those who don't know of it, it is a Christian version of Facebook.

Never heard of it. Maybe i will check it out face book is a pain in the neck... It is a loud as a high school cafeteria. Thanks

I don't do Facebook, and I haven't seen this site, but when I hear about this, I kinda shake my head. If anything's popular or successful in society, you can bet there will come along a "Christian" version of it. Obviously, I'm all for encouraging our faith, but

  1. The skeptic in me sees this as someone capitalizing on a Christian niche.
  2. Do we really need our own version of Facebook?
World has Youtube, here comes Godtube
World has Facebook, here comes Shoutlife
We have Christian versions of Music Videos on TV, book stores, etc. It seems a bit much. We go to church on Sunday so we can get revved up for what? To all go to our Christian coffee shops, eat at a Christian restaurant and head out to the Christian hardware store?

I know... I hang out on a "Christian" discussion board. :lol

yes but a christian discussion board has a purpose. we do actually learn from here and can actually state our views and debate on politics and be open about our faith.

oh, i have some good news.i went to my city council to sit in on what they plan to do the employees. the invocation was a full fledgeg, unabridged christian prayer! endid with amen and in jesus name.

I get what you're saying Mike. Christian networking is great, but at some point we also have to outreach. Facebook is a great place to do that. Shoutlife, well I'm not so sure how many non-Christians are going to sign up for that, especially as many of the social networking types already have Facebook (both Christian and non-Christian).

I think a Christian forum is a bit different, but then again I'm on Facebook, and many other secular forums. Many times we talk about moderation. I think this is also about balance. Balance between fellowship and outreach.

Is it? I just checked it out, and I didn't find anything about Christianity. Here's what they say in the "About us" section:

About Us

ShoutLife.com is a Free Family-Friendly social networking service that allows Users to create unique personal and business profiles online. The services offered by Shoutlife including (the "Shoutlife Website"), Internet messaging service, and any other features, content, or applications offered from time to time by Shoutlife in connection with the Shoutlife Website are for the general public around the world.

What is "Family-Friendly"?

The Shoutlife website (with the help of its users) ensures a clean, Family-Friendly environment. Shoutlife believes in the institution of Family and that children are a heritage and a blessing. Therefore Shoutlife filters words so you and your family will not be exposed to offensive language. All the users, pictures and videos are screened prior to them being posted. Shoutlife encourages you to invite family and friends to your Shoutlife community knowing it's a Family-Friendly Place to communicate, share photos, videos, play games and grow new friendships.

Management

Shoutlife Founders knew a fundamentally different approach was needed in Social Networking. Existing Social Networks do not offer a "Family-Friendly" clean environment, so they came together with industry expertise and innovative technology to bring you the next generation in Social Networking.

Benefits

Shoutlife's goal is to deliver relevant features that benefit you. What that means is Shoutlife will provide you comprehensive reliable tools and support essential for online profile development, marketing, gaming, internet communication and much more to enhance your Shoutlife community experience.

While Christians may find a "clean, family friendly" site more to their taste than Facebook, it doesn't say that it is specifically a Christian site.

lol my mistake, I never care to read anything about the site (I find it really boring :p ) I just took it as a Christian site with knowing how many Christian artists are on there.
