Still small voice, ok, well I was a christian for 13 years and I learnt about that. Hey, while your all here hear this trippy story.
Ok, many years ago when I lived in Queensland, Australia. Before I was a christian, I moved in with this gay guy, now I wasn't gay too, I was just renting a room. After staying there for a while my gay house mate threw a fairly big party, nothing to crazy.
My gay house mate invited this friend from Sydney who would stay in the spare room that night, he seemed pretty ok. So I chatted with all the guys and girls and drank and danced.
As I was going from room to room I noticed a small ceramic pot on the kitchen shelf, so I looked inside to find a key. All of a sudden a small voice came on and said.
"Tonight lock your door"
Hmm, ok I thought, then when everyone left, I went into my room and locked the door. Soon I fell asleep and in no more than an hour or so, I heard someone turning the door knob of my door.
I sat up to hear the voice of my house mates friend calling my name, over and over. Then eventually it stopped and he went away.
He left before I got up that next day, hmm.

That's not always the case... God doesn't always answer within the timeframe we demand.
A passage in Daniel helped me. Daniel is tired and his breath weak. He is beaten and worn when Gods messenger finally arrived. Gods messenger said he desperatly wanted to come to Daniel earlier, but he was detained and couldn't get there quicker.
Sometimes we just have yo know that help is on its way and sometimes that help comes when all faith has been lost.
Its not the God we like to hear about. We want the Burger King Jesus who gives us what we want, and serves it in a jiffy.
Is that the only time you have heard voices?
But sometimes our intentions are good.We are thinking about giving God our life and repenting.Then a tragedy happens.It is too late.

If he's ever believed there was a God and if he's ever put his trust in God, then we have to trust that Gods really in control here. Jesus made poet a promise. Do you believe our God is big enough to keep that promise? I do.
Peter couldn't stand the thought of Jesus suffering... And what did Jesus say? ... Suffering has its place. I have faith God isn't done with poet yet. And I believe poet has a valid reason for feeling the way he does.
You said that you are mentally ill?
Of course I think that God would keep that promise.I also know that He knows each and everyone of our hearts.Has a person genuinely given their life to Christ?God knows.

My OP was an attempt to point out that I was in serious danger if I continued believing in Christianity. But then what is true Christianity. It's obvious to me now that I've become the christian I couldn't become while plunged into the Christ matrix this world lives in.

Just confirming the above statement you made.You do know that auditory hallucinations are very common in those with a mental illness.

Funnily enough the times I was dealing with the worst sort of depression were also the times I couldn't stand hearing or reading scripture or being in church. I wanted to leave Christianity, even being completely convinced of God's existence. I didn't, but I really wanted to. I think it was mainly at the time that I was also dealing with the sin of idolatry (something I still struggle with), and knew that I couldn't serve both my indulgences and God at the same time. (Though I tried.) Anywho, during this time...it seriously hurt me, psychologically, to read anything out of the Bible except the Psalms. It just reminded me that I wasn't in the right place with God.
You know your circumstances better than anyone else, but perhaps the aversion to Christianity was conviction over something? You would know better than anyone else here whether or not this is the case, just throwing an idea out there.

Yo, first remember Yeshua is leading you out falsehood and into truth. (hope you read this) You are FREE in Christ, your spirit is free, DONT LISTEN TO MAN SPEWING DOCTRINE, YESHUA HAD NO BIBLE NOR WAS HE TRAINED IN SCRIPTURE, IT IS HIS SPIRIT THAT KNEW, FOR HE IS. In a similar way most people have totally NO IDEA about what Yeshua was really saying, even "Christians". You are being called to something grater, a Holy Spirit dwells in you, follow your Spirit and all things will be right. That Spirit will never leave you for you ARE YOUR SPIRIT. QUIT going to church and listening to satans workers who know not what they say or do or why. Become a Christ-ling not a "Christian". Someone can praise Yah and Know scripture up the yinyang but when it comes to LIVING IN SPIRIT they are DEAD. Heathens over run our synagogues preaching nonsense keeping keys hidden and not preaching the truth. Apply Yeshua's life to yours there is no one above you but HIM. no "pastor" no "priest" not a soul! YOU THINK YOU CAN KNOW YAHWEH by the word of a book or by the mouth of a man but BLAAAHHHH. If there was anything in scripture too look at and understand is, How did all these amazing people know God and do his will? was it that they where "more clean"? OF CORSE NOT!!!!! EVERY MAN HAS SINNED. Yeshua be like "mate all them demons be out now, go get on the donkey and ride unto the sun, I Am with you. Go out into nature and seek ME not in a book or in a building not for what I will give you, but as torn up fella weeping and crying out to Yah one last time. you will meet a woman when you do this, speak to her and you will know her for the rest of your life. blessings"
