so...yeah, 30...

Today I am 30, officially. Yesterday was the celebratory dinner.

You know, 30 is amazing. My tumultuous 20s are over. I'm still young enough to hopefully enter the workforce with a degree (thank you, Liberty) in a couple years. If I had job skills, technical skills, that kinda stuff I wouldn't need the degree, but...all I have are lots of college credits.

Anyway, 30 is good. Anti-climactic, maybe. I do feel a bit more grown up for some reason. Settled down and matured, at least (I know, what a big change in 24 hours, right?).

How did y'all feel about 30? Or...40, 50, 60, 20, any major b-day?

Happy birthday brother. You are a baby yet.

Many happy returns.

I will be thirty years old next year, which has caused me to pause and consider where I am in life, and where I want to be. I feel that I have matured in many ways in just the last two years, and yet there are parts of my life where I seem not to have matured at all. Still, the realization of entering my third decade has made me take life more seriously, while still not losing the childish nature of that passive aggressive pain in the blessed assurance inner child of mine.

I can hear my wife saying things that I didn't get until I hit 40 when I posted that.

1) the brain doesn't work until 40

I love my 30s. Im 34 now, i turned 30 2 months after leaving a cheating spouse so it really marked a new chapter for me and i was determined to make it the best ever now that I was free.I feel like the timing was perfect I got all the drama and drama creating people out of my life(well mainly my ex lol but that was a huge part of it).On my 30th bday my little brother ,who is my best friend, went and got all kind of sweets and instead of making or getting me a cake he made me a huge platter of oreos ,cookie dough, reeses cups and brownies and he created a harry potter living room so when i got home from work I was totally blown away lol .Then we stayed up all night having a harry potter marathon and i almost made myself sick on all the sweets lol.I have the best brother ever.

maybe some kinda supplement for the knees? I keep trying to get my parents to try some kind of joint-specific supplement, but they're not into all that.

Your brother sounds awesome. I don't know what I'll do on my 30th birthday, but if I get a bowl of mint chocolate chip ice cream on top of a warm brownie, a cup of black coffee, and a Harry Potter marathon, I'll be happy. Of course, it could be Lord of the Rings. Or Batman. Or The Hunger Games. Or Firefly/Serenity. Or...you get the idea.

boring Is when you look up old black and white images of your towns past and arial photos looking for clues of old homes and roads as they were then while you work you find some that and wonder what was. oh wait I do that. I was at such a location where a road in the 40s did lead to a few bunkers that are gone. the aura of that place , I could feel it.

I'm not supposed to have chocolate because I have as of yet undiagnosed thyroid issues, but brownies are better than birthday cake, every time. Mostly because chocolate, but also because birthday cake is the only dessert someone can blow and spit on and people are still expected to eat it. I'm not a germophobe, but I have this thing about eating something that's essentially been inside someone's mouth. I want to wish them a happy birthday, not make out with them by proxy.

lol yep jason i do that kinda stuff too.Anything that makes me feel history,I think its beautiful.
theres a reason why I do that. camp blanding, fl where I have spent time and and also my granddad. but on your profile I will show where I was talking about.
