Somebody Is Watching You

Doesn't the light need to be active when the cam is in operation or can this be overridden ?
I don't know that much about it but I would think it must get overridden by the spying software, otherwise it wouldn't work very well. My guess is that the light is turned on by the camera's driver software, and that can all be overridden.

What is a web cam lens?Is it on your computer somewhere?I don't have one.
Most new laptops and such have a built in web cam. Usually it has a tiny lens (similar to a lens on a cell phone camera) built into it somewhere, usually on the screen so that when you are looking at the screen from a normal angle and normal distance it it taking a picture of your head and shoulders. My laptop has one with a dark smoke tinted cover mounted in black plastic. It's almost invisible if you don't know where to look.

No people' they can activate your webcam remotely' just like I can on my laptop if it is stolen' I have program called lock it tight' and I can turn on my laptop's webcam and see who stole it, as well has locate where it is by satellite. So if I have this technology in my hands' you know what the government can do.
I will say it one more time' if I can do it' you know what the government can do. If you steal my notebook I can turn my webcam on wherever you are. And they won't even know that I am watching them.

The NSA may not be listening to your private phone calls, but it has been watching your private parts

The U.K. and U.S. government's ability to tap into webcams — and directly into your living rooms and offices — shows the biggest and most blatant lack of respect for people's privacy by Western governments in living memory.

Um... What are your "private parts" doing on webcam?

Well even if you're not broadcasting your "private parts" with your web cam, the article said that only between 3% and 11% was considered "explicit". What about the other 90% or so? Is that ok?

Of course there's a very simple fix to prevent this. A small piece of opaque tape over your web cam lens that can be removed only when you are actually using it. I put one over mine a ;long time ago when I heard about a school that was doing the same thing to spy on their students.

just in case I did that too, but if they are spying through my lap top then maybe some will be saved :pray

I do not think that I have one.
