Something Happend to me - Strange!

I watched your video. It sounds like a real blessing. I have heard many accounts of where Christians did things like this. I think they do this because they take the Bible very seriously where it says not to let your left hand know what your right hand is doing and not to do things for the accolades of man. The "good works" Christians do should be done quietly and privately so the giver does not get pride and so the receiver is not forced to be humbled or obligated when receiving. I imagine someone thought you had a need and wanted to quietly bless you. I think the best thing you can do is thank God and keep your eyes open to return the favor not just one time but throughout life whether it is materially helping someone or practically. I remember as a young college student driving home one Christmas Eve night out in the middle of nowhere my car broke down and I walked into an empty restaurant. The person was probaby getting ready to close but was kind enough to keep the restaurant open and let me stay in the safe warmth while my parents drove from out of state to pick me up. These kinds of kindnesses stay with one forever. Anyone else have a story where someone annoymously helped them? What a nice thread to share for the Christmas season!!!!

It's not merely a good thing---it's a God thing. Accept it as from His hand and look for a way to pass it on to someone else, if you truly do not need it. Ask God to reveal a real need to you.

God is already blessing your benefactor.

hmm. i helped others.

and i have more of these to share then the reverse.

I have a funny story, but I don't want to distract from the question posed in the OP. I don't believe you are obligated to pass it on right away if you can use it. But pjt had a good point that this is a "life lesson". I would keep the note as reminder of how you felt when you received it, and let your life reflect this generosity. When you see someone that you can help, do it - and anonymously (as long as you don't take pride in yourself with it) is a great way to go. Give God the glory for enabling you to help out.

So my friend and I were about 10 and my parents dropped us off at a church fair (back when parents could do that) for the day. We ran out of money after a while, and we were hungry. There was a tent that sold food, and sitting on the ground by the tent was a uneaten order of fries. They were old and cold. So we took the fries (I'm not proud of this, but we always look back and laugh.) and brought them inside the tent to the counter. We told them we just got these fries and they were very cold. The woman apologized and gave us a fresh order. Awesome! We took the fries out and sat at a bench and ate them. Along came a woman and handed us a note. She wrote something like, "I saw what you did. (We thought we were busted!) I feel so bad that you would pick up old food and eat it. Here is $10 so you can buy some fresh food. God bless you." :lol Being 10 years old and full of spunk, we laughed it off and had more fun & food.

Funny, but her generosity will always be remembered. She didn't have to do anything, and she didn't make anything of it. She just handed us the note and walked away. That's pretty awesome. :yes (and funny :lol)

I think that is wonderful but I think to maintain the spirit of this thread, the focus is on annoymously receiving from an unknown person or stranger.

pjt:

The passage Matthew 25.31-40 comes to mind, with the Lord Jesus' comments about being taken in as a stranger.

Hello,

I wanted to share something with you all.. I made a detailed video explaining the situation, but basically someone sent me $100 in the name of God... and I'm not sure what I should do.. ?

YouTube - A miracle? Act of kindness? An anonymous gift ...

Thanks

They where following What Jesus told them to do.

Jesus Said:

Matthew 6
1 “Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven. 2 Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. 3 But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly.

Britt there is a sort of law in life, no one escapes it, you will receive back what you give out often multiplied good or bad.

Whoever did that for you was following Jesus example and the holy spirit prompted them to help you in your time of need.

The best thing whoever gifted that money did for you is the example they set for you to follow, and the story you have to tell people about how caring Christians can be and how God met your need.

The act of kindness, I think we are meant to pass it on to others in times of need the same way, I think when you do that it repays the kind act you received.

exactly what adstar posted too

I think we all do random 'acts of kindness' at some points in our lives - a lot don't know that they do

It seems you were moved enough Britt, to put it up on utube and here - God bless ... :) ...

Get your tire fixed right away, next time, and you won't appear as needy to others again. Perhaps a lesson regarding procrastination is in this, also?

See how the others watch us?
