Two days ago I was standing on a coast rock, high above the turbulent ocean.
The waves below crashed inexorably unto the steep coast. The power of that water turmoil would not leave a person alive, once captured in it.
For me it was tempting to jump. That day more than ever. The time seemed perfect, I had nothing left to lose. There was no one near to me. And I stepped forward, ready for my last step.
Looking once more to the sky, closing my eyes, and shifting my weight forward to the steep slope, I suddenly felt a hand on my shoulder, a firm grip that held me back.
Dear Sister Rose, I have no idea the sorrow, suffering, or temptation in your life but we read in James 1:2-4 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. 4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
You, me and all in Christ are in a race to have God's best for us, but it is Him doing the work and He conforms us into the very image of Jesus (Romans 8:29). Ephesians 2:10 tells us that we are His work in progress as it were, and Philippians 2:13 says "For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure." God has something mighty being done in you and for you.
That which you've experienced I declare to be no accident. In Proverbs 2:8 we read that it is God that preserves our way. Psalms 23:3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake, and as we read in Song of Solomon 2:4 "He brought me to the banqueting house (That which sustains us), and his banner over me was love." God won my heart with His love of me despite of my failures which were and are many. Wherever we are physically or spiritually our Father never leaves or forsakes us (Hebrews 13:5).
Luke 4:10-11 "For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee: 11 And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone." Now I will add that the word "Angel" is interpreted as "Messenger", and as such can be our brethren in Christ also. Thus Hebrews 13:2 takes on first hand significance. "Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares."
Last of all (You mean it's come to that?) Hebrews 4:16 gives us hope. "Let us therefore
come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need."
Dear sister, I may have repeated much of what has already been said but you are loved here and Jesus tells us you are His given to Him by our Father and He isn't going to lose you, and you have everlasting life.
John 6:39-40 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. 40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
Blessings in Christ Jesus. :waving
