John 15:5
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me,
and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit:
for without me ye can do nothing.

I can do nothing to save myself
It is only through Christ
Through his saving work upon the cross
He saved me through his supreme sacrifice

I can do nothing to satisfy my deepest longing
Only Christ, can give me living of waters
Filling my life and flowing out of me
Supernatural rivers of joy

I can do nothing to forgive others
It is only by looking at the cross
At the One who has forgiven me
Can I forgive the people who have caused me hurt
So much forgiveness, has been given me
I have to forgive as Jesus did

I can nothing to love my enemies
Seeing the hurt they have done to my soul
But I hear my Savior's words
Father forgive them, and I must follow his word

I can do nothing to love and serve Christ
But He gives me a job to do
To bring light, life and love into people's lives
Sharing His love to a dark and depressed world

I can do nothing to love my wife
But I know that Jesus loves her so
And He calls me to selfless sacrifice
and to love her as He has loved the church

I can do nothing to share His gospel
I am slow in speech and in tongue
But like Peter, Christ gives me the speech
To share His gospel and to reach out in love

In my own strength, I can do nothing
But in His strength
through his spirit
I can do All things

Philippians 4:13
13 I can do all things through Christ which strengthened me.

Without Christ, I can do nothing
All these things, I cannot do in my own strength,
but in His strength and being filled with His Holy Spirit,
I AM ABLE TO DO ALL THESE THINGS!

GUEST DEVOTION

LOVED

From: Charlie Dean

“Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things… First Corinthians 12:4-8.”

“God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life… John 3:16.”

"If you love me, you will keep my commandments… John 14:15."

True love, how wonderful, is patient and kind. My first experience with true love was with my parents. I knew they loved me. After a hard day at school, it was comforting to come home and feel that true love. I could crawl up on the couch and tell them about my day and they would listen then give me sound advice. Afterwards, I felt better.

When I went to bed, I was at peace. No matter what happened to me, I knew I could tell my parents, and they would listen and somehow make it all better. Not that I was right all the time, oh no for sure, but even when I was wrong their corrections were done out of love.

When they taught me something, or wanted me to do something, it was always expressed out of love. They wanted the best for me. They wanted me to do well in all areas of my life. I wanted to do what they asked to please them because they loved me. They taught me true love and I've found it in my wife.

Well God loves us even more than anyone on earth. For you can see how much God loved the world. He gave His one Son and sent him to earth that whosoever would believe in Him will not perish but have everlasting life. Now that's true love.

When dad would send me to do something, like help my grandma, I wasn't at home. He could look around, but I wasn't there, I was out helping. He loved his mom, so he sent me to help. Well God loved us so much He sent His only Son to earth so we could have everlasting life. That's true love.

How did I show my mom and dad I loved them? By doing what they told me out of love. I remember coming into the house and telling my mom I completed a chore she gave me. She was so happy. Well, if you love God, if we love God, we'll keep his commandments. You can call out to God in prayer and tell him your problems, your concerns, and he will listen out of Love. Your prayers will be answered.

You can live your life serving the God that truly loves you. One day he'll bring us to our Heavenly Home. You'll be glad you served out of love.

This is so beautiful and really encourages me as I get ready for church this morning. Gracias!! John 15:5 has been a reminder in my life, teaching me that I am nothing without Christ. As a flawed woman navigating the challenges of faith, family, and still my own personal struggles, I’ve learned that trying to do things on my own only leads to exhaustion and disappointment, and very often sin. But when I abide in Him—seeking His presence daily, trusting in His strength rather than my own (even leaning on my brothers in Christ here on this forum)—I find peace, purpose, and the ability to bear fruit in ways I never could alone. This verse reassures me that my worth and success are not measured by my own abilities, but by my connection to Christ, the true vine, who sustains me, nourishes me, and enables me to flourish. Amen!
