Bible Study Spiritual Discernment

Maybe not for those people who only read four verses per sunday as the pastor speaks a message but for others who read them much more it certainly will. When you read the scriptures your spirit will start to resonate at the same frequency as the holy Spirit thus opening up your self to become aware of the Lord's presence.

The Scriptures don't "resonate" at a "frequency", and neither does the Holy Spirit! He speaks to your spirit.

Oh - I know that He can come with power so that you see and feel the power of the Spirit, but He is in that small voice and not the power.

1 Kings 19:11,12 So He said, “Go forth and stand on the mountain before the LORD.” And behold, the LORD was passing by! And a great and strong wind was rending the mountains and breaking in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind. And after the wind an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire; and after the fire a sound of a gentle blowing.

With the small voice comes with the gentle peaceful feeling. He is not a frequency and He does not resonate, He speaks! That is to say, we preach the Word of God and the Word of God we preach is found in our heart and on our lips - not in the Bible, but from the Holy Spirit talking to our spirit in words!!

Jn 6:63 “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.

We don't memorize the Bible so we can hear the Holy Spirit. He does not talk in a "frequency" but by His Holy Spirit to our spirit.

Still - the Holy Spirit is not the only spirit so we need to test the spirits!! We need to use some discernment. If you read the Bible and talk it over with the Lord, He will send His Holy Spirit to talk to your spirit in words - that small voice of His, and He will guide you into all truth. He is not in the earthquake, so to speak, or in the fire, so to speak, but He is a person who you can and need to have conversations with!

He is easiest to find in the quite place, the cave so to speak, where you can just spend some time with Him and you. Yet you can also hear from Him at the store while shopping, in the car while driving, and even at work in the midst of everything going on around you. He will have you read and study the Bible, because He like to use those writings to help explain things to you, but if you are only reading four or five verses a day and not actually seeking Him "Today" then you have got it wrong! It is written that who so ever believes in Him - not who so ever believe in the Bible. So someone (say an evil spirit whether you know it is an evil spirit or not) has been telling you that it is about the Bible instead of about Him, and you buy into it then you are wrong. Then you do need to flip the page back, so to speak, and come back to Him who speaks to you personally.

He is not the Scriptures (the graphe), He is the One who speaks the words of God to you personally (the Logos), and He does that via the Holy Spirit, who does not speak on His own imitative but as He hears He speaks. Our spirit can hear those words the Spirit speaks to us, but there is also something written about how with their ears they barely hear. So do we have ears to hear? Yes! Do we hear with those ears? Well, some don't or barely hear with them.

Sigh. Don't twist my words. The book does not resonate. Our spirit does resonate. The Holy Spirit does resonate. The universe resonates. Now I'm no physicist but I know enough to be dangerous, lol. All things in our universe are constantly in motion, vibrating. Even objects that appear to be stationary are in fact vibrating, oscillating, resonating, at various frequencies. Resonance is a type of motion, characterized by oscillation between two states. All things resonate at a specific frequency whether living or not.

These are well established facts Brother. So nice try with the, huh-uh it don't. Lol.

Luke 12:27 “Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; but I tell you, not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these.

Are you perhaps thinking about things too much???

Just talk to the Lord Jesus Christ and make sure it is Him by testing the spirits, like instructed!

Ecc 1:2 Vanity of vanities,” says the Preacher, "Vanity of vanities! All is vanity.”

All I know is what I know.

All I know is what I know.

Hummm?

What we need to know is what the Lord tells us - which we do not know until He tells us.

He woke me up this morning by talking to me about this subject - That we know things but it is our knowledge that saves us.

1 Cor 8:2,3 If anyone supposes that he knows anything, he has not yet known as he ought to know; but if anyone loves God, he is known by Him.

So we have what we know, but if we love Him we are known by Him - and that is what's important!

Why is that true? The fact is that if you love God you seek Him, and it is written that all those who seek find. So if you love Him you seek Him and what He has to say to you, and that leads to Him talking to you and conversations between Him and you take place. Thus, you get to know each other. We talk. Like friends, we talk. Like a Teacher and His disciple we talk. Like a Lord and His subject, we talk. Like a Father and a Son, we talk. Like a husband and His bride, we talk. - We talk to each other!

Therefore, I don't just know what I know, I know Him! And that because I don't suppose that it is I who knows anything, but I suppose (believe) He does.

Now, this morning we talked about us people and how He made us to think. We need to think, or He would not made us with the ability to think. And you know what, I like thinking about Him. Not me only, but many people like thinking about Him.

For example: a few years ago scientist were excited about a particle they felt they had found. They called it the 'god particle'. Ok, they didn't insist that the particle was "god" but it had interesting properties that could lead someone to thinking it might be what God is made of. So since Him and I talk I asked Him about it. Instantly He responded to me saying, "Karl, I am not a particle! I am a person".

This morning He talked to me some more about this and about statements made on this thread about Him resonating. He reminding me that He is spirit, not physical then. So again, not particles that resonate. He reminded me of something I had read by a Christian cosmologist named Hugh Roth. Mr. Roth had pointed out that since God made the universe He must be outside the universe. I am not saying Hugh Ross has everything right, but if indeed God made that which resonates He is not that which resonates. He is instead the person whose sheep hear His voice.

He is the person whom we need to love. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, right? So then you must be seeking Him and what He says, right? Thus you don't just know what you know, you know Him, right?

Yes I do. And since you were talking with Him about our discussion of how things resonate then tell me, what word did He give you for me? After all, it was me who brought it up so there must be something for me because you were talking about me. So what point did He make and what was my word?

This thread is about discernment of spirits, is it not?

Then the discussion is about discernment of spirits - it's not about you - it is about us Christians! Do we test the spirits, to make sure we are hearing from the Lord? Do we take all thoughts captive to Him? Do we practice using our spiritual senses so that we get better at discernment? Are we going over this subject is Him, after all is not discernment a gift of the Spirit, and is not the Spirit sent to us to give us the words of our Lord? And what have we learned about the subject?

This is not a personal attack! But does that Lord point out things to us, and does He not use other people? Of course. So He talks to me about me and other also about other people concerning what we people need to do better.

So what all has He said to me. SOO MUCH, and that is just on this issue. I put down a lot of it already. But here is some highlights:

His name is called the "Word of God", so who tells you the Bible is called "The Word of God". He is not the Bible, but He is alive and active and able to divide our thinking and discern. Hebrew 4:12 was written to tell us to take are thoughts captive to Him, as the Word of God, so that we should know about discernment of what is going on in us!! Yet you will find many, if not most, Christians telling you that the "word" of God that is alive and active is the Bible, not Him! Why? Is it not clear that we Christians, as a group, are not taking our thoughts captive to Jesus Christ but instead are, in general, leaning on our own understanding of the Bible, as the Word of God?

Now if I point that out to Christians, in general, they want to defend the Bible. Why? I am clearly saying that we need to turn to our Lord Jesus Christ, so who is telling us to defend the Bible, as the Word of God, when I say that Jesus Christ is the Word of God? My friends, it is the devil that is doing that!! The devil is leading us away from Jesus Christ by getting us to make an idol out of our Bible.

Now the Bible is not wrong, it in fact explains that this is a problem. It has Jesus telling the Jews that they were searching the Scriptures instead of coming to Jesus Christ! So do we read the Bible and fail to make the connections that since that was a problem back then it is going to be a problem we have to look for today?

Also, the Lord through Isaiah explained that if we did not listen to Him then the word of God to us was going to be the line upon line instead of His voice, and that so that we might go stumbling backwards. Therefore if a person is intent on defending the Bible as "The Word of God" the words that Isaiah heard from the Lord and wrote them down have applied to that person. So why are people worried about what I am hearing from the Lord concerning them? It is not different that what the Lord told Isaiah concerning people. So ask yourself; Who or what is the Word of God to you? If Jesus Christ is the Word of God to you, then isn't it because you are listening to Him daily. But if the Scriptures are "The Word of God" to you, is it not because you are not listening to Him, just like is explained in your Bible. Perhaps you are blowing back and forth in the wind? That only means you need to improve your discernment of spirits, doesn't it?

Also, and this if very important to me because it is my specific assignment from the Lord, we/I am supposed to be leading people to Jesus Christ!! Is it not written that the work of God is that all should come to know the Son? So let me give you specifics that He has told me on this subject, and you can see if they resonate with you?

He told me:

WE DON’T HAVE UNDERSTANDING BECAUSE WE DON’T READ THE BIBLE WITH UNDERSTANDING, BUT OUR UNDERSTANDING…. UNDERSTAND???

THE SCRIPTURES ARE RIGHT, BUT THEY ARE NOT RIGHTEOUS. THEY HAVE NO ABILITY TO ACT. THEY ARE NOT ALIVE, BUT THE WORD OF GOD IS ALIVE AND ACTIVE.

WE DON’T USE THE LORD TO PREACH THE SCRIPTURES; WE USE THE SCRIPTURES TO PREACH THE LORD!!

I MADE THE MOUNTAIN AND THE MOUNTAIN IS GOOD, BUT WOE TO THOSE WHO WORSHIP THE MOUNTAIN. WOE TO THOSE WHO WORSHIP THE CREATED AND NOT THE CREATOR.

I AM THE WORD OF GOD! THAT IS WHAT THEY CALL ME. FOR WHAT PROPHET EVER SAID ‘THE WORD OF THE LORD CAME TO ME SAYING’ AND DIDN’T MEAN THAT I CAME CLOSE? SHOULD I SHARE MY NAME WITH MY CREATION?

THE LIE IS “GOD DOESN’T TALK TO YOU!!!!” REMEMBER WHAT THE DEVIL SAID “DID GOD REALLY TELL YOU?” THAT IS THE LIE! THAT IS THE LIE BEING USED TODAY!

A MAN THAT LISTENS TO GOD IS AS RARE AS DIAMONDS IN THE ROCK.

TO KNOW AND WHO TO KNOW? TO LIVE AND IF TO LIVE? SO ONE MUST KNOW WHAT ONE MUST KNOW TO GET THE WHERE THEY ARE GOING.

DON’T SAY YOU DID OR ARE DOING WHAT YOU THINK IS BEST, SAY YOU DID AND ARE DOING WHAT HE THINKS IS BEST. THAT WAY YOU WILL BE SEEKING HIM AT TIMES!

A PILLAR DOESN’T HAVE TO DO MUCH, IT JUST KIND OF SITS THERE AND POINTS UP.

THE BEST LISTENERS MAKE THE BEST TEACHERS.

WHEN WE TALK TO GOD, GOD TALKS TO US……. WHEN WE LISTEN TO GOD, GOD LISTENS TO US!

WHAT TEACHER DOESN’T PUT A BOOK IN FRONT OF HIS STUDENTS TODAY; YET NOT JUST A BOOK BUT OVERHEAD TRANSPARENCIES, VISUALS, AND OTHER MATERIAL? FOR I TELL YOU TRULY, IF THEY ARE NOT LISTENING TO ME THEY ARE NOT MY PUPIL, THEY ARE NOT MY STUDENT; I TELL YOU TRULY, THEY ARE NOT MY DISCIPLE UNLESS THEY ARE HEARING FROM ME. SO DON’T TELL THEM TO READ THE BOOK, THEM TO TAKE THE CLASS!”

And the above are just a little bit of what He tells me!

In my bathroom one day He told me, "Karl, I want you to preach the Word, but not as it is so often preached today. I want you to preach 'I AM' the word of God!" And when He said "I AM" it hit me with power, though it was still just His small quite voice, and that power caused me to go stumbling toward the floor. I barely caught myself with the toilet lid before hitting the floor. So it is not an instruction that I can forget.

Another time He asked me to go to Ezek 3 and start reading there. That was not all that unusual, but what was unusual is that He start speaking to me as I was reading, so that I was reading and could hear His small voice talking to me at the same time.

I was reading Ezek 3:5 "For you are not being sent to a people of unintelligible speech of difficult language... not to many people of unintelligible speech or difficult language, whose words you cannot understand, But I have sent you to them who should listen to you; yet the house of Israel will not be willing to listen to you since they are not willing to listen to Me...

While I was reading that the Lord was talking to me personally and saying, "Karl I am not sending you to people of unintelligible speech or difficult language, but I am sending you to people who should listen to you, but they will not be willing to listen to you since they are not willing to listen to Me."

So as can be seen, those not willing to listen to Him are those who call the Bible the Word of God instead of Him, according to what Isaiah wrote. My message is that Jesus Christ is the Word of God, and that because He wants to talk to us and we need to listen to Him. If He is not the Word of God to you personally, it is because you are not listening to Him. If instead the line on line of text in the Bible is the Word of God to you it is because you are not listening to Him like you should, and you have gone stumbling backwards and been taken captive, just like the Lord said and Isaiah wrote!

Indeed, if you listen to me telling you that then you are listening to the Lord, but if you are not willing to listen to me explain that then it is because you are not willing to listen to the Lord, like the Lord said and Ezekiel wrote.

The Lord once also told me:

THERE ARE TWO MISTAKES YOU CAN MAKE; NOT TO BELIEVE THE BIBLE IS RIGHT, AND THE OTHERS IS TO NOT TO BELIEVE THE BIBLE.

Not everyone who studies the Bible actually believes what the study. If you believe the Bible you will believe in Him and thus seek Him and His words for you. He then will be the Word of God to you, and the Bible will be the textbook. the Holy Writ, that He often uses to teach you by actually talking to you!

K2CHRIST I enjoy reading your testimonies, but after reading through your postings, which I agree in part and disagree in part, there is a big difference between having the Holy Spirit teach us what is written in scripture for our well-being and instruction in righteousness and that of God speaking to us for a specific purpose He has for us individually.

I agree with Edward that we can hear Him speak to us in an audible voice as I have heard God's Spirit speak to me many times before and also by the word of God for what is written that speaks to our heart as the Holy Spirit teaches us all things. The words written on paper only become a mystery to others who have no Spiritual understanding as they have not learned how to hear or listen to the Holy Spirit. That doesn't mean they are not a child of God washed in the blood of Christ, but that they have never been taught how to recognized that small still voice. Many Pastors do not teach this or they just gloss over it as in what they say is truth, but only teach from a carnal understanding for they do not know the Spirit of God.

We know the Bible is an inspired text book given by God for what He spoke, gave to Jesus to speak and for the Holy Spirit to teach us that of what Jesus taught while here on earth as being the word of God come in the flesh of man. The Bible is for us to study from to shew our self approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness that the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

The anointing which you have received from the indwelling of the Holy Spirit abides in you, and you need not that any man teach you, but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, you shall abide in him.

The Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

The teachings from the Holy Spirit can be auditable at times as many of us have experienced, or a thought, or even one single word that we are told to search the scriptures for the full understanding as the Holy Spirit gives us conformation, wisdom and understanding of what we are studying.

How do we know if it is really the Holy Spirit we are hearing?

We try the spirits whether they are of God, because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God and every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof you have heard that it should come, and even now already is it in the world.

There are around 1526 instances of living water in the Bible. Here are some verses on living water being the word. John 4:4-26; 7:37-39; 12:44-50; Ephesians 5:26; 1 John 5:5-8; Jeremiah 17:13; Zechariah 14:8, 9; Rev 21:6-8; Ezekiel 47:22

The words that are written in ink on paper are indeed the living water/word of God as when we apply His word/instruction to our everyday walk with the Lord then we develop a deeper fellowship with the Father and a deeper relationship with Christ.

I like the above post, but consider this verse:

Jn 6:63 “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.

According to that verse, and the verse must be correct and go with all other verses, because Jesus said it and it is recorded in the Holy Scriptures - His words are spirit!!!!!!

Now I have heard the Lord speak to me with such power that I thought those words must have been audible - but were they????

No - upon a careful consideration, they were not audible sound waves but were in fact words from the Holy Spirit but said with power so that I thought they were audible. Consider - when Saul on the road to Damascus heard the Lord tell Him very clearly and with extreme power ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?’, who else heard them?

Acts 22:7 and I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?’

Acts 22:9 “And those who were with me saw the light, to be sure, but did not understand the voice of the One who was speaking to me.

How is it that those with Paul did not understand the voice? It was because the voice was from the Spirit of God and like Jesus explained, His words are spirit!!!

Have we not read that with their ears they don't hear or they barely hear? You hear the Spirit of God with your spiritual ears, not you physical ears that pick up sound waves!! This is pretty basic stuff, isn't it? That is, the word of God we preach is found on our hearts and in our mouth, not from reading or listening with our physical hears, right?

Rom 10:10 But what does it say? “THE WORD IS NEAR YOU, IN YOUR MOUTH AND IN YOUR HEART”—that is, the word of faith which we are preaching,

So, is that the word of faith which we are preaching when we say the Word of God is our Bible, or that the Word of God is audible? NO - We are preaching another gospel, with is not really another gospel, but some are disturbing us!! Just like Paul had to write to the Galatians.

Gal 1: 7 I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you [fn]by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel; which is really not another; only there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ.

Gal 3: 2 This is the only thing I want to find out from you: did you receive the Spirit by the works of the Law, or by hearing with faith?

So - answer the question, the only thing only thing that Paul wanted to find out "from you" - Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the Law of by hearing with faith?

Look - we are suppose to read and study our Bible, but it is not by that bit of work which we receive the Holy Spirit, we receive the Holy Spirit when we try to hear what our Lord Jesus Christ has to say to us!! If we want to hear what Jesus Christ has to say to us He sends His Spirit with His words to speak to our spirit. We can seek Him while we read the Bible, but we might not! We can also seek Him while at the store, or we might not. We can seek to hear from our Lord Jesus Christ at most anytime during the day, but we might not!

When we do seek to hear from our Lord Jesus Christ, whose name is called "The Word of God" because He owns the words that God has for us, then He sends the Holy Spirit with His words for us and we hear them in our spirit! not our physical ears. Those who wrote the Bible did so to explain this to us. They explained that the word was near us - found in our hearts and perhaps in our mouth, right?

The first words He told me were, "Read Your Bible" and those words hit me so hard that it felt like someone had hit me with a 2 by 4 on the side of the head. At first I thought they were audible words, but they were not. Even powerful audible words would not have actually felt like those words. Paul went blind, and that we not caused by audible words but by the power of the Holy Spirit. God's words are "spirit" and are life - not audible sound waves!

This is very very basic stuff for Christians, is it not? Why is it that I have to go over it?

Heb 5:11-14 Concerning him we have much to say, and it is hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing. For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you have need again for someone to teach you the elementary principles of the oracles of God, and you have come to need milk and not solid food. For everyone who partakes only of milk is not accustomed to the word of righteousness, for he is an infant. But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil.

The Hebrews had grow up with the Sacred writings, but they were dull of hearing because they didn't practice using their spiritual senses! That failure to use their spiritual senses had it's effect. For one, it was hard to explain the very basic Christian idea of hearing the Lord by faith - that His words are spirit, not sound waves. It also made it hard to discuss more meaty subjects with them, and because they didn't practice listening with their spiritual ears they did not have their senses trained to discern good and evil - which brings us back to the topic at hand!

So what does that mean? That His words are spirit...so they can not be heard by us? What in the world gave you that idea?!

SO I say that I heard the audible voice of the Lord, and then you explain why it didn't happen or why it can't happen. But there's still a problem here you see. It did happen.

Scripture does not say that the others who were with Paul on the road to Damascus could not hear the voice, it said they could not understand the voice.

I thik what it amounts to is that, the Lord can turn the volume up and down on the volume and intensity of His presence and His speech.

You hear all sorts of testimony's. Some, when Jesus manifests Himself are thrown to the ground on their face. Others are able to stand. Some fear. Some are elated. Some hear His voice audible inside of them. Others hear it audible outside of them. Why is this? Because He is able to reveal Himself at differing levels so that our puny inperfect beings can tolerate His presence without dying.

They say one day He will show up in full glory, and the enemy will go up like a puff of smoke and be destroyed by the brightness of His coming.

I've heard God's still small voice. And I hear His audible voice within me that time that the Holy Spirit was keeping me from being arrested while the Popo were looking for me. ...turn left in the alley. Sit here and rest for now. Get yp, go right...and like that, and it was inside of me. But it was not the still small voice, lol. Oh no. This was very plain and easy to hear and understand.

But it was different when He spoke audibly to me and told me to pray. It was NOT inside of me. But that time, time was of the essence so I believe He turned up the volume to not waste any time.

Maybe you have never heard the voice of the Lord audibly like that before? I don't know. But I tell you that I most certainly did hear the audible voice of the Lord, that one time. So while I not sure where you learned that spirits can't be heard in the natural, it actually does not matter because I have experienced it for myself and I know that, if they want to be heard, they will be heard.

Is anything too hard for God?

So what does that mean? That His words are spirit...so they can not be heard by us? What in the world gave you that idea?!

I means they are spirit, not sound wave - OF COURSE

So they are not audible, but spiritual - OF COURSE

Which means they are not found by listening with our physical ears, like an audible voice, but by listening with our spiritual ears - OF COURSE

SO I say that I heard the audible voice of the Lord, and then you explain why it didn't happen or why it can't happen. But there's still a problem here you see. It did happen.

And yes, you did not hear an "audible voice"! You could not have recorded it with a microphone. Telling people that we hear an audible voice misleads them as to how to hear from the Lord. God is spirit! You read that right?

Scripture does not say that the others who were with Paul on the road to Damascus could not hear the voice, it said they could not understand the voice.

So you think that Paul understood the language but some how those with him didn't. Perhaps Paul knew a language and spoke a language that those with him did not understand? Why didn't Paul state that the Lord was speaking to him in say Greek, but those with him didn't speak Greek - or something like that? Are you not just trying to be stubborn?

There was a reason why Paul included that fact that those with him picked up something but that they didn't understand what it was! It is the same reason that other authors of the Bible explained that "with their ears they don't hear" - or will you not take anything to the Lord for a better understanding?

I thik what it amounts to is that, the Lord can turn the volume up and down on the volume and intensity of His presence and His speech.

Of course the Lord can turn the volume He uses to communicate to us with His Spirit up or down. Have you not even talked to Him why He chooses to normally talk to us with that small voice instead of just making it loud and clear all the time? You say you hear from Him but I never see what you hear from Him in your writing, only that you have heard Him speak to you with what you thought was an audible voice. Did others around you hear from Him with their ears? Did you even ask Him about if they would have if they had been around? What do you talk to Him about? Personally I asked Him about things like that and get responses. He told me there were a number of reasons for normally using that small voice and some reason that He might come across to someone with that loud voice that comes with power. He can also use a small voice and put power behind that, right? You know about that also?

He once told me:

IT'S NOT EASY LISTENING TO A ROCK. YOU HAVE TO LISTEN VERY CLOSE!

Then He explained the meaning of the saying. That is to say that He wants us to listen closely to what He has to say, and the best way to do that is to speak quietly to our spirit so that if we do hear Him we will listen closely to Him.

Of course that are those times when you might have a son running amuck and you need to shout at Him, like He came across to Paul. He use power in the extreme their, like He used power in the extreme at the Mountain of God when He had Moses bring His people there to listen to Him. Moses heard the words God said, but the Israelites heard thunder and said let not God speak to them.

It is like the Lord told me: WE DON’T HAVE UNDERSTANDING BECAUSE WE DON’T READ THE BIBLE WITH UNDERSTANDING, BUT OUR UNDERSTANDING…. UNDERSTAND???
You hear all sorts of testimony's. Some, when Jesus manifests Himself are thrown to the ground on their face. Others are able to stand. Some fear. Some are elated. Some hear His voice audible inside of them. Others hear it audible outside of them. Why is this? Because He is able to reveal Himself at differing levels so that our puny inperfect beings can tolerate His presence without dying.

Now you write "Some hear His voice audible inside of them" -If it is audible then they heard it with the physical ears - otherwise it wise His voice was spirit, which is not audible but spiritual! So others heard it audible outside of them? Really - Did Jesus lie when He said His words were spirit? Either the Bible is wrong, or you are.

Ok - again we find an audible "within" - but that is not audible. Perhaps this is just a case of semantics, which I don't want to argue over. Yet there is something I don't understand - if you are hearing a voice inside that you sometimes call a "small voice" and sometime call "an audible voice" is it not just a case of volume, spiritually speaking? But you had a problem with the volume idea, from what I read? And "audible" can be barely audible or easily audible - so audible is not of itself a definition of volume but only a question of if it can be heard or not. The small voice of the Lord is heard inside you, is it not? So the small voice is "audible inside" you.

Oh - but this is all on a thread about discernment of spirits. So what does all this have to to with discernment of sprits? So do we test those voices? Do we even spend much time taking our thoughts captive to Jesus Christ and listening to Him who speaks to us "inside" us in words which I guess we could say are audible inside us, but they are not sound waves!! God is spirit!!

So when God speaks He speaks to you personally! It is not audible to others around you, but is personal to you!! So those with you might understand something is going on but they are not going to understand the words He is speaking to you personally, because His words are not "audible" in the sense that others around you can hear from Him unless He also decides to talk to them personally, which He can do also and at the same time.

So we are telling people that they each need to seek the Lord for themselves!!!

And yes, you did not hear an "audible voice"! You could not have recorded it with a microphone. Telling people that we hear an audible voice misleads them as to how to hear from the Lord. God is spirit! You read that right?I

I read that and believe it. But who said that spirits can not have an audible voice in the natural? I don't doubt that it might not be able to be recorded, but such is the power of God. We know very little about the spiritual realm and how it works. We see through a glass darkly.

And yes, you did not hear an "audible voice"! You could not have recorded it with a microphone. Telling people that we hear an audible voice misleads them as to how to hear from the Lord. God is spirit! You read that right?

But I did, one time. It is a fact though that I hear Him very much more in His still small voice than an audible one. I think He turned up the volume for me out of necessity.

I'm not trying to be stubborn. But I think that Paul understood it fine because it was him that the Lord wanted to speak with. And I don't think it was Greek. I think the Lord would not let them understand what was being said. Apparently, He wanted them to know that a spiritual encounter was happening for that witness, but they didn't get to understand the speaking. I would think that such a thing would be easy for God to do.

When that Angel came to my garage sale...he acted weird. Asked strange questions. But I was restrained from catching on that it was an Angel...until after He left. Now why would the Lord do that? Probably for my own good because if I had realized it was an Angel then I'd prolly have started asking dumb questions or something. ??

That sort of thing happened in scripture too a few times if I recall correctly.

I said some hear the voice audible inside them because a couple reasons, one, I've heard a few different testimony's where people said the Lord spoke audibly but it was within them also and different than the still small voice.
Which describes my experience with the Holy Spirit guiding me so the police would not find me. That was not a still small voice. And it was louder (inside me) than the small voice but was absolutely different and louder so I don't think it a wrongness to describe that as an audible voice yet inside me at the same time. Ad also was very different than His real audible voice when He told me to pray for the Brother. Different. Louder. Over there, not over here. Not inside.
So there's aspects of how He works that we are simply clueless about. So I don't have all the answers of how and so forth but I do know it happened.

I only heard Him speak audibly one time. The majority of the time it is a still small voice.
I have learned that it does not go over well to come on here and post, the Lord said to me...xxx or whatever because it sounds like it's a "thus sayeth the Lord" like I am arrogant or something. So I've learned to not go into great detail so I wont be accused of making things up to win debates or something. He has talked to many times about many different subjects. Sometimes in response to my question, other times not. But even when He changes the subject on me, it's still usually related in an obscure way which He knows and I am only learning these things. He always seems to say just the right thing in the right kind of way so provoke me to think along a certain line.

He told me one time that He wants for me to be able to recognize and hear His still small voice, and obey immediately. In these times, time is of the essence many times so He wants immediate obedience. Makes sense!

What I have taken to calling the audible voice within me (because of hearing others describe the same thing), that only happened one time also. When the Holy Spirit hid me from the police under the shadow of His wings. One time.

And only one time audibly outside me, to pray for the Brother. ALL the other times He speaks to me is the still small voice, And sometimes He speaks to me through other people. He told me to practice learning to discern Him speaking to me through other people. And it was impossible at first. But over time, I have learned the way He talks. So I might hear a person talking to someone else and one or two things that it said in their conversation speaks to me directly. Into my heart and something very relevant to what is going on in Edwards life at that time.

He told me one time that He also speaks to people through song. And sometimes it's a secular song! I don't know Brother, His words not mine. He did not offer any more details than that.

I remember reading a lot of your writing in the past, and I love it. The Lord talks to us. We should understand that God's words are spirit - that as opposed to sound waves which are what is normally thought of as "audible". If someone wants to call hearing the Lord in words "audible" then we are just arguing over semantics and it is written that we are not to do that!

What we are doing, however, is preaching the Word - Yet the Word of God we preach is found in our hearts and in our mouth!!!

Rom 10:8 But what does it say? “THE WORD IS NEAR YOU, IN YOUR MOUTH AND IN YOUR HEART”—that is, the word of faith which we are preaching,

The reason we find the Word in our mouth and in our heart is that God is spirit, and Jesus had to explain this to the Jews!

Jn 6:63 “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.

Of course, this thread is about discernment of spirits!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Holy Spirit is not the only spirit around! There are angels that serve the Lord and are they not all ministering spirit sent by the Lord to those who will receive salvation?

Heb 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?

And we also battle with the dark evil forces of this world!

Eph 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

So we are supposed to test the spirits!

1 Jn 4: 1-3 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God; and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world.

So things are going on around us in the spiritual realm, and we need to use discernment. Reading and studying the Bible is helpful, because It explains all this, yet will still have a Teacher and He gives us wisdom, and from His mouth comes knowledge and understanding!

Prov 2:6
For the LORD gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding.
Prov 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding.

Therefore, even when we hear with our spiritual ears we need to test the spirits and seek the Lord and His mouth/voice, so that we understand what is actually going on!!!!!

The first words I heard from Him were, "Read Your Bible" and I felt certain that they were audible and that they came from behind me. From reading the Bible all the way through I got other information, but I still felt that God had talked to me from outside me. I was still not actually seeking the Lord to hear what He had to say to me. but only reading the Bible like He had told me and praying like the world tells you to pray - which is that we talk to Him but we don't expect Him to answer. I didn't even understand that He would answer inside me, because I had only heard His voice that one time, or so I thought.

I figured is out differently one day while driving down the road. I considered that since I thought He could hear me even if I only prayed to Him inside, then He might be able to answer me inside also. So I tested that idea. I asked God which lane of the freeway I should be in, because it was not important, or so I thought. It did wind up important, and while I felt I need to be in the left lane, I asked Him, and He told me to get in the right lane. But if He could tell me that and it worked out, when I was certain I needed to be in the left lane, then He did exist and could communicate to me inside. And since it was about which lane of the freeway to be in, and not even about what the Bible meant, then He would talk to me about anything. I just needed to seek Him and His words that I found on my heart!

That is the Word of God we are preaching!!

Is that the Word of God you are preaching?? It is the Word of God, which according to the Bible, we are supposed to be preaching!! Yet my parents had taken me to church as a child, and that was not preached to me. And when the Lord told me "Read Your Bible", I had started going back to church, but they were not preaching that Word of God to me either. I had to figure it out on my own. The church was preaching the Word of God was the ink on pages!!!

OH, the conceded that God might occasionally say something to us, but He normally talked to us through the pages of the Bible, or perhaps through the preacher up front, and there could be times when someone heard an 'audible voice' seeming to mean 'sound waves'. There was even that small voice which on rare times you might hear! (That the Word of God they were preaching!!)

Yet as I talked in the days called "Today" with the Lord it all because clearer. For the most part, they were giving God "lip service"! They would tell me how they "heard from God" but they didn't practice seeking the Lord and His voice. Because they didn't practice hearing the voice of the Lord inside them, the Word of God to them had become the line upon line of text, or perhaps a little here or a little there - but the Lord through Isaiah had wrote that about them, didn't He?

Is 12:13 He who said to them, “Here is rest, give rest to the weary, ”And, “Here is repose,” but they would not listen.
So the word of the LORD to them will be, “Order on order, order on order, Line on line, line on line, A little here, a little there, ”That they may go and stumble backward, be broken, snared and taken captive.

So they were preaching the Bible (line on line or text), and that occasional bit of hearing Him (A little here, a little there) as the Word of God instead of encouraging people to seek His voice and listen to Him every day called "Today".

Heb 3:7 & 3:15 & Heb 4:7 Therefore, just as the Holy Spirit says,
“TODAY IF YOU HEAR HIS VOICE,

And "Today" is the day you should have heard from Him, right? He told me to come and post again. I wanted to get at my business, but I heard Him tell me to post. He even said "please" to me. So I posted. After all, what happens if "Today" is not the day you hear His voice?

Heb 4:5 and again in this passage, “THEY SHALL NOT ENTER MY REST.”

If I listen to Him "Today" I get peace and rest in my life. When I don't, I get stressed. The dark forces get at me.

So Christian people - are you preaching the Word of God to be found in our hearts "Today" or has the Word of God to you become "“Order on order, order on order, Line on line, line on line, A little here, a little there, ”That they may go and stumble backward, be broken, snared and taken captive."???

You've read the Bible, but are you actually listening to Jesus Christ as your Lord "Today"?
