Statements made by evangelists who claim scripture!

No one single person in the New Testament is identified as a priest!

First that’s cos everyone in the new covenant is a priest !

Either Christ and His apostles and their successors and those they ordain according to the order of melchisedec or the people in the royal priesthood!

Heb 7:17

1 Peter 2:9
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;

And it’s not actually true either!

Heb 7:17 For he testifieth, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

Christ is identified as a priest!
Eternal and high priest!

Apostles / bishops and those they ordain!

1 Timothy 4:14
Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.

All the people in the communion of saints! 1 pet 2:9

John McArthur errors!

Denys the sufficiency of scripture:
Denys scripture as only authority:

Quote: “if you feel you are called to share you’re faith or the gospel you are an evangelical”!

Now feelings / emotions (lower carnal passions below the intellect & will) are not an authority for Christians!

Deny’s the reality of Santa Clause / St. Nicholas!

Deny’s scripture:

“You are a sinner and there is nothing you can do to change that”!

Then quotes John 1:12 and says they are born of God who 1) receive Christ 2) believe on His name

Jn 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

And Jn 3:16

Jn 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

“There is nothing you can do”!

You must receive Christ!
You must believe and continue in a perpetual state of believing until death! Matt 24:13 Mk 13:13 rev 2:26
You must be baptized! Mk 16:16 acts 2:38-39 acts 8:36-38 acts 22:16 1 cor 16:13 gal 3:27 1 pet 3:21

I have been listening and reading his material for years. You should not spread lies about someone you have no knowledge of.

Do you really believe your emotions and feelings are authoritative?

I know the Pentacostals/charismatics believe this and even go as far saying it is Holy Spirit. Absurd.

What you have posted is just deception and lies.

As a Pentecostal (not a Pentacostal) of several decades, I would say that it is absurd to believe that emotions and feelings are supremely authoritative. That some Christians—whether or not Pentecostal—believe such to be supremely authoritative, is perhaps sadly true. That the Holy Spirit might speak through emotions and feelings, similarly to how he can speak through conscience or by illuminating text, is another matter. A good general knowledge of the Bible, and awareness of genre and covenant eras, should be fundamental to Christians. If we speak of sufficiency, we must carefully define the area for it. If Scripture is sufficient, what is it sufficient for? Eg, Scripture cannot be sufficient for Christian salvation, since that would exclude the need of the cross, the spirit, faith-welcome, and often even human evangelism.

McArthur is a liar who tries to please men and ignores scripture.

Please men?

Obviously you never heard his preaching or read his books.

The pastor is on par with Spurgeon, Martyn Lloyd Jones, S. Lewis Johnson, Voddie, Washer and the like.

These men put God first and bring glory to Him and not man.

You like most probably do not like him because he will not go against the Bible and promote woman pastors. speaking in tongues, baptism with the spirit and all the other heretical teachings people want to have their ears tickled by.

I need not defend him or any other of the pastors I mention, just go listen to a sermon or read something by them.

But you will not.

Grace and peace to you.

I would be loath to call him a liar, while allowing that he can be very (sincerely?) mistaken on some points. Once bees are in our bonnets, we can be loath to get rid of them even for real honey. From what I know of him (little enough), he seems to me more concerned with Scripture than with pleasing men, women, and children. Sure, I think he’s biblically blind on some points, as surely I am too.

We all have blind spots.

It was a sermon on YouTube!

There are no apostles in this day and age.

Also, where is the sermon you watched?
Really no apostles?
Without apostles there no Matt 28:19 not proclaiming of the gospel and sanctification in the sacraments!
No possible salvation!

The church must be the same in every age!

Christ says there are apostles Matt 28:19-20 I am with you (the apostles) until the end
Again
Acts 1:8 apostles are his witnesses to the ends of the earth!

Please show proof of a modern day apostle who has done the work of the original Apostles.

There is none.

Also why did the Apostles exist and able to do miracles and the like?

Mt.28:16 only specified the Eleven, but evangelism was not limited to them who have now all died. Eg, Matthias was added just before Pentecost; Evangelists are distinct from Apostles (Eph.4:11). Salvation into the church comes through various channels. I see no biblical grounds, however, to deny that apostles continue to be appointed by Christ.

To administer the kingdom to govern the church till Christ returns

Lk 22:29 And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me;

Jesus Christ founded the new covenant church for the salvation of all men! (Jn 1:16-17) Christ is the truth! (Jn 14:6) Christ and his church are one!
(Acts 9:4 eph 4:4 eph 5:32)
The church is the pillar of truth
(1 Tim 3:15) that must teach all men (Matt 28:19) without error guided by the Holy Spirit
(Jn 16:13) Thru the grace of God in the sanctification of souls applied in the seven sacraments!

Christ established the sacraments as the primary means of grace!

Sacramental life: Jn 1:16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. Jn 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Christ founded the church for the salvation of souls!
Teach and sanctify all men unto eternal salvation!
Matt 28:19

Apostles are appointed by apostles?
No, but they can be recognised by apostles (Ac.1). The sitz im leben was that Peter et al, knew that a Twelth apostle must be waiting in the wings: Pentecost needed the symbolic Twelve. Later Paul (called well before recognition) castigated some charismatic (ie self-appointed) people who claimed to be apostles (2 Cor.11:13; 12:11).

What does this have to do with Apostles doing miracles, signs and wonders, raising the dead.

None of that is happening today.
