When you visit CNN or BBC Facebook pages and read stuff on ISIS you will be amazed that America is viewd as (by some angry posters): those Christians who spend all their energy attacking Islamic nation. Point is, they label America Christian. Perhaps for religious issues

times of the era that they were raised in.king david and many men of faith had slaves. ie Abraham. its not that the bible condoned that just that it was what was around then.non religious,
This government was not set up to accommodate any particular religion. But was set up on moral values that can be found in God's word.

I do wonder sometimes if all of them really believed what they wrote. Some of them bought and sold slaves and some of them allowed the Native Americas and black slaves to be treated as animals.
Interesting figure. But...The US is not a theocracy of course, but we do have a majority of people that at least profess that they are Christians. I have heard 80% say they are a Christian and while I doubt that all of them truly are, I would still say that the US has the largest population of Christians than any other country.
Maybe some Christian concepts still influence things, maybe a bit more than in Canada or Europe, but...nah, not a Christian country.
American is not a theocracy, and never has been. The government is not run by, or as, a religious institution. America is Christian, however, in terms of the underlying principles of culture and government philosophy. Our founding fathers were entirely creatures of the Judeo/Christian traditions formed over hundreds of years. Dignity of the individual, protection of minority rights, subsidiarity in social and government organization, etc. all come directly out of the Judeo/Christian traditions.
We've never been perfect in living up to our principles and values, but that doesn't diminish the principles and values themselves, it just means we're imperfect creatures. As a culture, we have grown more secular and suspicious of Christian values over time, until today we're beginning to see outright hostility to Christianity.

Do you think that some of the hostility is what we have brought on ourselves? Do we try to Force free citizens to conform to what we believe is correct?
I know if some Muslim or even Jews tried to force me to accept their beliefs by criticizing me and my beliefs and trying to force me to live by their rules, I would resent it and fight it tooth and nail.
