Re 22:2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:
Gentlemen you are all assuming, to eat once from the tree of life is to have ongoing living. The Bible does not say that....
The fruit in the city is shed every month, and we eat it every month....The leaves we also eat to remove the curse we inherited from the earth...otherwise why is verse 3 mentioned as a parallel....we are being healed slowly...so people recognize us growing up....
The Hebrew word for life is "chay"
The Hebrew word for "quickened life" is "chayah"
It does not mean one "lives forever" but that we have "ongoing living"...
The first implies once in heaven I live eternally forever without God, the second implies my ongoing living is always dependent upon my Saviour, and my salvation is also based on eternal gratitude on my part, just as the punishment for my sinning in the sin-bearer is also eternal and ongoing as well....
Zec 13:6 And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.
(KJV)
Those scars are war trophies Jesus wears for eternity, and our gratitude of praise is our war victory praised and sung by us for eternity as well.
We eat of the tree of every month....in heaven....it's an ongoing sense of living....
So if Adam did eat of the tree once after sinning, maybe a few extra years...now I am speculating....
Shalom
