the 10th anniversary of my death 03/08/2012

On this date at 1457 2002, I died. Allow me to explain, I was at one time a soldier in the US Navy. I was attached to an ordinance disposal unit in Afganistan. While out on patrol the Humvee I was in took a hit from an I.E.D. the Humvee did not have the uprated armor and was virtually destroyed, I was ejected from the vehicle and thrown aprox. 30 feet before landing on the ground dead. The other vehicles in the patrol immeaditaly began searching for survivors and trying to help those that could be saved, cpr was done on me for 15 minutes off and on(my heart stopped several times during this) I was for all intensive purposes... dead. after 15 minutes my heart finally began to beat and stayed beating, however I was hurt severly. All in all I had 47 broken bones, a collapsed lung, and a massive concussion. I was in a coma for 4 months after this, and the doctors were begining to give up hope that I would ever come out of it. When I finally awoke I found out that I was the only survivor in that Humvee. On this day I ask that those of you that can take a moment to rember those soldiers and all those that have given thier life for this country. If there truly is a heaven I know Moose, Mad Dog, and Hillbilly Jim are there because we were already in hell.

John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

All these men and women lay their lives down everyday for our freedom and they deserve the respect of all the American people. All three of my brothers kids were in Iraq in the midst of the thick of it all and I praise the Lord they returned home safe. War is an ugly thing, but let freedom ring:salute

I was thinking "greater love" myself. My prayers for you, M, and a heartfelt thanks for your service.
