The Bible Does Not Teach You Go To Heaven!!

Fables, myths , old wives tales are the curse of the last days with many false prophets scattering the flock.

2Ti 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

2Ti 4:4 And they shall turn away [their] ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

If these are the last days then false prophets are every where and do not we see the "The Modern Church of Money"
there are 4,203 churches all collecting money for God. They are false prophets which are known by their fruits.

Dying and going to heaven theory has been around for 2,000 years. Paul warns of this in his time saying wolves
would come bearing lies in his day.
The people love to hear these things and they pay me says the minister I had better tell them good news.
Yes your mother is in heaven is what all want to believe so that is what the ministers preach.

Next they all misquote " in my fathers house are many mansions' .

The people who quote this to prove you go to heaven can not even read the verse from the beginning to end
they change the words every time .

Watch someone is going to quote that verse to me.

The verse is a perfect verse to prove the kingdom of god is on the earth and you do not go to heaven!
Bring it on !

The bible teaches the meek shall inherit the earth so why would you go to heaven?
The bible teaches the Kingdom of God is on the earth so why would you go to heaven?

The bible teaches that Yeshua shall be King of the Earth so why would you go to heaven?
If you believe you die and go to heaven then you do not believe in the resurrection of the dead.

We are told that we shall all stand before the Judgment Seat of Christ but if you are already in heaven
do you have to come back to be judged?
How did you get to heaven without going through the Judgment Seat of Christ ?

The bible teaches that Abraham and King David are in the grave never have received the promises so how did
your grandma get to heaven before King David?

People want to believe you die and go to heaven no matter what !

May God bless your study of The OT

In a sense, I believe that 'heaven' as it is widely known, is somewhat of a 'corrupted' doctrine. I only say that because the Bible does make wide mention, in prophesy, that God will be making a new heaven and a new earth and that we will rule and reign with Christ. I do not believe that the Bible says, verbatim, that those who die, go to heaven. I believe that when we die we will instantly be in the presence of God, which could be similar to the 'heaven' exprience, but I believe that when Christ returns, after all of the tribulation, after the 1000 years, after satan is finally locked away forever, our eternity will begin on a new earth as the New Jerusalem will be the place where God dwells with us. We will definitely be a part of God's spiritual realm in our glorified bodies but I believe that eternity will be spent in this familiar environment after its purification.

Sorry if that is convoluted!

The Christadelphians have apparently landed on a modern day form of Sadduceeism i.e. no resurrection from the dead.

1 Thessalonians 4

13 Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. 14 For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. 15 According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.

Why go up then back down?

How can they profess to be Christians? They don't even believe in the main component!

1 Corinthians 15:12-19

The Resurrection of the Dead

12 But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. 14 And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. 15 More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised. 16 For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. 17 And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. 18 Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. 19 If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied.

Before things get too carried away in here, perhaps "heaven" should be defined.

Do not believe heresay, of coarse we belive in the resurrection of the dea,d no problem just because smaller said
we do not, then others jump on the band wagon without looking up the facts.

Smaller we believe in the resurrection of the dead why did you say we did not?

You ignore what you don't like.

So what else is new in the world of people justifying their sects, ignoring critique and claiming same as persecution to 'God sanctioned truth' certification?

Common everyday ploy by a multitude of sects.

Why do you not put forward your bible verses for going to heaven?
Can you not prove you go to heaven?

smaller,
These types of posts are also in violation of our TOS. Like Oats, this is your first unofficial warning and will not be counted against you. However, if I see this type of violation again, you will be issued an official warning.

I believe that the Bible teaches that the final eternal "home" of the redeemed believer is indeed earth. However, I believe it is a little unclear as to what happens between the time a person dies and when they are resurrected as per 1 Corinthians 15. I believe that the believer "goes to heaven", but I am not entirely sure that there is "awareness" during that time.

But the OP has a point - there is a widespread misreading of the Bible that has people existing forever in a disembodied state in heaven. I believe that the Bible simply does not teach this, and I am surprised this idea is so widespread.

Do you not agree: we are promised resurrected bodies like Jesus. How is that not a "physical" existence?

Jesus arguably tells the thief that "today you will be with me in paradise". I suspect that even though the exact nature of existence in heaven prior to resurrection is a little murky, there is at least some sense in which the believer "goes to heaven". I believe that the Biblical picture of heaven is that of a "wayside inn" where one "waits" before going to the final destination.

Either way, I suspect that we agree that the final state of the redeemed believer is here on earth in a body.

Why go up then back down?
Well, I do not believe we "go up" in the sense of any kind of rapture. We can talk about this more if you like. I suggest that Paul is leveraging a range of Old Testament images here and is intending to express his true point through a complex metaphor. There is a lot of this in the Bible - wild, unreal images. The Bible writers were not children. They knew a good metaphor when they saw one.

I believe there be no rapture - I can present a view of how the 1 Thess text does not really evoke the notion of a physical rapture.

I don't understand the reason for physical bodies for eternity. Way to restrictive. Will this body require clothing? Will people walk around naked? Will they have the central nervous system necessary for senses? Do these bodies have the same internal organs necessary to digest food, required by the body to survive? Is waste expelled in liquid and solid form? Will it require a skeletal system to keep the body upright? The ability to remodel bones that will probabaly never need it? Lungs to take in oxygen to stay alive? . . . . If not, . . . is there just a gooey inner filling?

Do the angels have physical bodies? Do they operate well enough?

The fact that we are promised physical bodies is entirely consistent with the redemption of the created order. When God created the physical world, we are told He considered it to be "very good".

There is this curious idea floating around that the physical is somehow "bad" and the ideal state involves escaping from the physical and enjoying some kind of disembodied existence.

This is not a Christian idea, it is a gnostic one. The Christian view is that the created order is wonderful, but it got damaged. God then embarked on a "reclamation" mission to restore creation to its proper state. This mission reached its climax on the cross 2000 years ago.

I believe that the Scriptures teach that believers will be given "physical" bodies just like the one Jesus is described as having been given.
