The Book of Daniel and 2012

Sorry , got the passages wrong for Rev . , should have been Rev . 3 : 12 , and 21 : 22 . I really , truly didn't mean 3 : 16 . :thud
Hey Bro Eugene , may Gods love rain down on you my friend . I've never tried to figure times or dates this way , seems to confusing to me .
All of Daniel 9 : 24 - 27 seems to me to be an end time prophesy .
Ecc . 1 : 9 , " That which has been is what will be , that which is done is what will be done , and there is nothing new under the sun . "
This is telling us that God has a pattern to everything . Look at the heavens and the laws and patterns they work by . The way all life comes from the dust of the earth and returns to it , the same every time . The way of man and history . Man rises and falls by the same patterns every time . History repeats itself over and over again . Different people , different ingredients , same patterns .
Israel is a prime example . Israel followed God , defied God , faced tribulation , called out to God , and He delivered them . Now repeat the same pattern all through history up to this present day .
The way I see it , Neh 1 : 3 , 2 : 5 and Dan . 9 : 25 show us a pattern for the end times . Especially since Dan . 9 : 24 - 27 seems to be a specific prophesy of the end times .
Hi again Brother burning heart.
1 Cor 10:11 “. . . they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

My short synopsis of Daniel 9:24,25,26,27 follows.

Daniel 9:24. Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. These were the 490 years now complete.

Daniel 9:25. Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. This is the initial 483 years from the permission by Antaxerxas given Nehemiah to restore Jerusalem.

Daniel 9:26. And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off (Jer 11:19), but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. The people of the prince (Satan) to come seemed to be Rome in 70 AD.

Dan 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. Daniel 9:27 is all future.

An excerpt by my friend Gene Hawkins:
“Who is the "he" being talking about? It is "The people of the prince" we had in Verse Twenty-six and of course that prince is Satan, but his representative here in Verse Twenty-seven is going to be the antichrist. This "He" is also a contrast to Messiah the prince.”

I’ll leave off at this point, and even the portions of scripture I discussed here can be expounded much deeper.

Blessings in Christ Jesus.

God's temple?
Mar_14:58 We heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands.

Actually...

John 2:19–21 (NASB95)
19Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”
20The Jews then said, “It took forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise it up in three days?”
21But He was speaking of the temple of His body.

Act 7:48 Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet,
Act 7:49 Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest?
Act 7:50 Hath not my hand made all these things?

These and other passages like Zechariah 6:12-13 / 1 Corinthians 3:16 support the fact that God never intended Solomon to build a Temple anymore than he intended David to. And that it was built on the misinterpretation of 2 Samuel 7:12-13. And like the monarchy (see 1 Samuel 8) God condescended to deal with Israel from that time forward on those basis. But you will note that seldom from those times forward were the Jews in good standing with God for any length of time.

Tabernacle: yes. Temple: no. No mention of it here:

Hebrews 8:5 (NASB95)
5who serve a copy and shadow of the heavenly things, just as Moses was warned by God when he was about to erect the tabernacle; for, “See,” He says, “that you make all things according to the pattern which was shown you on the mountain.”

There will be a rebuilt Jewish temple in the last of the end times. And the covenant in Daniel 9:27 refers to the beast (abomination of desolation) affirming the holy covenant as it is referred to in the rest of Daniel. Remember this individual will convince everyone who is not indwelt by the Holy Spirit that he is who he says he is. IMHO a raised Judas Iscariot who can scientifically prove his age through DNA / RNA blood content and genetics. Remember... atheists and skeptics with PhDs etc. will be convinced. And religious claims are not going to do the trick. And he will convince the world for a time that Old Covenant Judaism was the true way and that he will blaspheme Jesus and his followers as the evil that cursed the earth 2000 years. Hence the vigor in hunting Christians down during the believer's tribulation period and what the number 666 is really all about (tracking down the one people on earth who will not accept the mark).

Daniel 9:27 (NASB95)
27“And he will make a firm covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate, even until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, is poured out on the one who makes desolate.”

Daniel 12:11–12 (NASB95)
11“From the time that the regular sacrifice is abolished and the abomination of desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days.
12“How blessed is he who keeps waiting and attains to the 1,335 days!

Judas = Beast texts (IMHO):

Luke 22:3 (NASB95)
3And Satan entered into Judas who was called Iscariot, belonging to the number of the twelve.

John 13:26–27 (NASB95)
26Jesus then answered, “That is the one for whom I shall dip the morsel and give it to him.” So when He had dipped the morsel, He took and gave it to Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot.
27After the morsel, Satan then entered into him. Therefore Jesus said to him, “What you do, do quickly.”

Only two texts in scripture that state Satan actually entered somebody. Not going too deeply into biblical demonology / possession it is clear in most if not all cases mentioned in scripture that the fate of the possessor is tie to the host. The host dies and the demons go to the pit. So for Satan to risk all that in entering Judas, it must have been a go for broke moment in his beliefs to defeat the God-man at his most vulnerable time. And only too late did he realize he'd played right into the hands of God in that it was always God's intention that the Messiah dies. And what appears to be Judas' remorse to the priests when he threw the 30 pieces of silver at them and all was actually Satan's attempt to put a stop to the crucifixion. But he's corrupted the priests too well. The resulting hanging of Judas was IMHO the same as the swine jumping over the cliff when demon possessed... the inner rage of the defeated devil within was too much for the man Judas to handle so he killed himself. And went "to his own place."

Acts 1:25 (NASB95)
25to occupy this ministry and apostleship from which Judas turned aside to go to his own place.”

John 17:12 (NASB95)
12“While I was with them, I was keeping them in Your name which You have given Me; and I guarded them and not one of them perished but the son of perdition, so that the Scripture would be fulfilled.

2 Thessalonians 2:3–4 (NASB95)
3Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction {{perdition; same Greek word}},
4who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God.
