We are told that the witnesses are killed and three and one half days later God's Spirit enters them and "great fear fell upon them which saw them."

  • Revelation 11:8-9 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.

To me that was always a marker in time. When we see that event we know the end has arrived. But, we must consider...

  • Matthew 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

Another consideration is....the great city isn't in one location. Will the witnesses be killed at the same time around the world and then the three and one half day countdown begins? Wouldn't we then know the day?

Why do you think Revelation 11 has anything to so with the "day" in Matthew 24:36? Why do you think the witnesses are actual individuals? And why don't you think the "great city where our Lord was crucified" is Jerusalem?

We are... told at the end of Rev.17 that is a city, and not just any city. Rev.11 reveals it's about the area of Jerusalem where our Lord Jesus was crucified.

God's two witnesses will be two literal witnesses in today's Jerusalem on earth. It's the two candlesticks part that points to two of the seven Churches, for the last verse of Rev.1 declares the seven candlesticks are the seven churches. That's the part about Christ's elect in other cities and nations around the world being delivered up to give a Testimony for Christ, like the "two witnesses" will do in Jerusalem.

1. Matthew 24 speaks of the end of this age. That is "the day." Revelation 11 speaks of the same day...

  • Revelation 11:15 And the seventh angel sounded: and there were great voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our LORD and of His Christ: and He shall reign for ever and ever."

What are you seeing Todd? Why do you see those times as different times?

2. From your comment I assume you believe the "two" witnesses are the Bible. For various reasons I see the witnesses as people, not two entities but two groups of people. Their testimony is the Word of the Lord which is the Old and New Testament but the Testaments aren't the witnesses themselves...they are witnessed of.

3. The verse, [Rev.11:8] tells us....

  • And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

Jerusalem isn't the "great city." She is the holy city. The great city is Babylon, the world. Sodom represents wickedness and Egypt all carnal lusts....both under control of Satan. Our Lord was crucified for us, for our wickedness and carnal sins.

The "great city" is ruled by the great dragon, and she is.....

  • Revelation 16:19 And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath.

    Revelation 17:5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

No man knows the day or hour, but nothing is said about the year or season.

That's true but my point is the verse tells us that after the three and one half "days" the Lord returns. If we are not to know the "day" then is this not a conflict?

I study biblical time, and according to my calculations Yahshua returns 21 years after the death of the Two Witnesses. 2300-167BC=2133AD

Perhaps you missed this verse:

Matthew 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

You cannot calculate when Jesus will return, it's impossible to know.

We just covered that subject, and nothing is said about the year or season.

The whole point of what Jesus is saying is that we cannot know when. It is irrelevant that the year or season aren't mentioned.

There is enough information in scripture to get a general time frame. We know as a matter of fact that there is a time limit to prophecy. The prophecy can not go beyond 2144AD without being proof of failure of God's word.

Please explain the basis for this date.

I will add...I hope you are wrong. Each time I listen to the news my heart aches. I feel it is very close.

Rev. 11:11 And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.
Rev. 11:12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.
Rev. 11:13 And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven

Im thinking,,, Christ will be returning alot sooner then 21 years after the death of the 2 Witts....

Daniel 8:13. Then I heard a holy one speaking, and another holy one said to him, "How long will it take for the vision to be fulfilled—the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, the rebellion that causes desolation, and the surrender of the sanctuary and of the host that will be trampled underfoot?"

14 He said to me, "It will take 2,300 evenings and mornings; then the sanctuary will be reconsecrated."
In 167 BC the Temple was surrendered to the Hellenistic and Kabbalistic Jews, then the sacrifices were also brought to an end. 2300-167=2133. Later in history in 133AD the Jewish people were finally defeted. Two days = 2000 years. 133+2000=2133. 1/3+1/3+ 1/3=3/3 distruction.Therfore the time will be extended so there will be survivors. In the near future the world will be distroyed by a 1/3 from nuclear war. Habakkuk 2
1 I will stand at my watch
and station myself on the ramparts;
I will look to see what he will say to me,
and what answer I am to give to this complaint.

The LORD's Answer
2 Then the LORD replied:
"Write down the revelation
and make it plain on tablets
so that a messenger may run with it.
3 For the revelation awaits an appointed time;
it speaks of the end
and will not prove false.
Though it linger, wait for it;
it will certainly come and will not delay.

I am not one of those Christians who believes that God's word is to mysterious to know what it means. Prophecy is a mathematical process that is narrowly defined.

Chernobyl means Wormwood. Revelation 8:10. The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star-s, blazing like a torch, fell from the sky on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water— 11the name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter.

is that the word cherylnobl as the nuke meltdown in russia?
