The Deity of Christ: His Person

If Jesus is God, and you believe with your understanding that He is the God-Man, and you have truly, purposefully by an act of decision committed your life to Him as Lord and Savior, then everything is settled forever. But if Jesus is not God, then nothing is settled, and we are lost in sin, without hope.

Now the question is, do we have biblical evidence that Jesus is the God-Man, God in the flesh? The answer is a joyful yes. Throughout Christ's ministry His enemies made every effert to disprove His Messsianic claims and expose Him as a deceiver. They failed completely.

The Pharisees, Sadducees, and Herodians, who had nothing in common but a religious hatred for Jesus, came to Him with questions designed to entangle Him in His teaching and to expose Him as a fraud ( Matt. 2222:15-40). Jesus answered all their questions without getting caught in in their web of deceit. Then He asked them a question: What do you think about the Christ? Whose son is He? They answered, The Son of David. They answered correctly, but were not ready for the next question. Jesus asked, How then does David in the Spirit call Him Lord, saying: The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, till I make your enemies Your footstool. If David then calls Him Lord, how is He his Son? ( Matt. 22:41-46; Ps. 110:1). They had no answer to this question because they did not know, or would not accept, the biblical teaching about the Messiah.

Jesus is David's Son according to the flesh ( Rom. 1:3), He is also David's Lord according to His God diety. He is the God-Man, the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth ( John 1:14). His humanity began with His conception by the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, but His Deity is from all eternity.

Jesus is the I Am of the Old Testament ( Ex. 3:13-15).
Jesus is the I Am of the New Testament ( John 8:56-59).
Jesus is Immanuel ( Issiah 7:14-16).
Jesus is the Father's gift to us ( Issiah 9: 6, 7).
Jesus is God, according to God the Father ( Ps. 45:6, 7 ).
Jesus is the God-Man ( John 1:14).
Jesus is Soverign ( Luke 4:31).

Folks, JESUS IS GOD, AND LORD OF LORDS AND KING OF KINGS.

May God bless, golfjack

Nothing could be farther from the truth....

Now the question is, do we have biblical evidence that Jesus is the God-Man, God in the flesh?

Depending on the term "God"....yes that is correct.....or it not....depending on the definition.

The answer is a joyful yes. Throughout Christ's ministry His enemies made every effert to disprove His Messsianic claims and expose Him as a deceiver. They failed completely.

Messiah and God are 2 different titles, expectations, and persons...

The Pharisees, Sadducees, and Herodians, who had nothing in common but a religious hatred for Jesus, came to Him with questions designed to entangle Him in His teaching and to expose Him as a fraud ( Matt. 2222:15-40).

Another non truth.....the Herodians probably hated Christ. The Sadducee's hated Christ because he posed at threat to their ruling position. The Pharisee's did not hate Jesus...Jesus was most likely a Pharisee...most of the early Christians were Pharisee's....You are mistakened in your "fraud" statement...the Pharisee's debated with Jesus in a good ole Rabbinical debate...the same debates between rabbis still occur to this day...That is a Christian misconception....

Jesus answered all their questions without getting caught in in their web of deceit.

Of course he did....he won every debate...and they learned from it.

They knew Messianic Prophecy...they were expecting the Messiah ben David, the conquering King that would deliver them from the Romans...the pacifist Jesus at his first coming was Messiah ben Joseph, the suffering servant. The Pharisee's were very mistaken, but understandibly so....

Jesus isn't the God-Man that Gnosto/Mystery Roman Chrisitanity has made him out to be....

Study the memra for the proper perspective of the I am.....

Better check the definitions.....

I can never again believe in a Godhead/Trinity. It is utter idiocy and illogical. 1+1+1 does not equal 1. The way I see it, you have three possiblities of a Christian God.

(1) God is really Three Gods.
(2) One God the Father
(3) God is One God and has Three different manifestions, forms or modes.

The cross is but foolishness to those who do not believe. I have read some of your post including the one where you cried out for prayers and those whom you persecute were the ones who came to you. You my friend need to find God. He has found you and is calling you, but you have turned a deaf year to him.

Alright golfjack - what do you say to one such as I who says Jesus is the son of God - but not God. Am I lost in sin without hope?

Indeed, you are lost in sin but always with hope should you beleive Jesus himself is the Almighty Lord God for God is only ONe. What was born of Mary was only a child created by the HS in Mary's womb but the spirit inside that body is the Lord God whose name is Jesus, the Christ or God himself who lived in to that said body for more or less 33 years.

So how do you know this stuff scorpia? Did God reveal it to you or did you read it in the bible?

I would say you're not a Christian and you need salvation for your sins.

Acts 16:30-31
And he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?â€Â
So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.â€Â

What you guys are saying is the above verse isn't enough for salvation without also believing and confessing that Jesus is God, right?
If thats what you're all saying then you are adding an extra requirement to Gods word, unless of course you can produce some scripture that tells a person they also have to believe that the Son is also the Father and MUST be confessed as such in order to be saved.
Would you please show me that verse?
My point is, if you cannot come up with the verse that demands a confession of Jesus as God in oder to have eternal life ...then I would be very careful who I called unsaved; especially if that person is believeing the Lord Jesus Christ for their salvation.

Only God can forgive sins. He could be one of those that seem to think that Jesus came to save the flesh. Do you really believe Mormans are saved or for that matter Muslims, JW's, Hindu's, and so forth are saved?

I have no idea what they believe ...
I posted a verse that tells us how to obtain salvation through Jesus Christ. I asked you to post your verse that a person has to also confess and believe that Jesus is God in order for that to work.
I believe a person who is trinitarian is saved ....I also believe a person who believes that Jesus is the Son through which there is no other way to the Father ...yet is not the Father, is saved also.
Because they are still believing on the Son as is required by scripture.
My point again is ....I sure wouldn't tell them they aren't saved if they are believing on Jesus for their salvation.

By your logic as Golfjack said, all those cults who clearly believe in a false Gospel would be saved and we know this is not true. To believe in a Jesus as Mutz and I am guessing you as well, a Jesus who is not God wuld be another Jesus AKA another Gospel. Now if you want to encourage someone who to follow a false Jesus, then you too will sit on the white thrown judgment seat. I read the entire thread that Imajic started to try and disprove that Jesus is God and clearly he LOST THAT DEBATE because he had no foundation because to believe in a false Gospel is to believe in the devil for your salvation. Listen Close
only God can forgive sins. Jesus said this himself when he healed the crippled man before He / Jesus / AKA God healed him.

Jesus also said. Lord Lord, Did we not prophecy in your name.
what did Jesus say to them?????

Destiny
Even though I don't post much I read alot and I used to have a lot of repect for you. You need to repent of your false encouragement of following this false Gospel.

1+1+1 is adding value to the equation, this is why it's called logically enough "adding." 1X anything is the same value. Man with our little wisdom can not phantom the thought of a Trinity God. 1x1x1 = 1

You don't know what I believe...But your mentality helps me understand why Jesus was crucified.

Pardon me? What does this mean then?

"This, then, is how you should pray: " 'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.' For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
