The easliy provoked

Some Christians I know easily get angry with you when you err (no matter small the offence is). It is in their nature. And once they are offended the react immediately (applying Newton's Third law of motion). What do you think about these people, especially when it is in their nature. (not that they enjoy being angry and reacting accordingly)

As the same people will tell you, our nature changes when were in Christ so "its in my nature" doesn't really work as a reason.

I have my own theory on it and its simply this; some people need to lighten up, get their head out of scripture, experience the world, see what real problems are and then realise that what matters is not rigourous doctrine and rules. Some have lost all sense of perspective.

But hey I'm liberal so what do I know?

Careful Grazer, that's twice I've agreed with you in two threads.

You must be wrong. :confused

That's what people tell me. I try not to lose my cool even when provoked. (it's a different situation when someone messes with my soccer life:bigfrown)

That's great you're cool headed and laid back, not hot headed :)

But I just remembered another area you were not so cool about. When I first started posting here I was having so much trouble with my pc and didn't like IE, but you did. So you got out every gun, sword, bat, every weapon you could find on here I think and tried to kill me with them :lol

Hi Classik,

Your avatar, is that your picture? Even if it's not, I think he needs to wash his face. It appears there's something stuck on his lower lip. lol

SOME Christians refuse to accept Gods verdict as to what comprises sin, no matter how small an imperfection. It is not so much the sin that
Offends the Christians so much as the fact that some people reject what God has said about the sin/imperfection in his Word the Bible,. WHEN THE OFFENDER confess the tiny sin as being a offensive to our holy, righteous, perfct God, ONCE the sin is acknowledged and the need for forgiveness and mercy are confessed, then our loving and merciful God fully forgives and restores you.

ONLY IMPERFECTION IS INTOLLERANT OF IMPERFECTION". (Let Go by Fenelon).
There is a chance that either the Christian finds they are unable to forgive due to self righteousness or because they see their own sin in you,, and they have not accepted Gods forgiveness and repented of their own sin.
Dont confuse unforgiveness with mistrust. IF PEOPLE have been deeply hurt by a sin, even by one that seems tiny in your eyes, it may take a long time before they are able to trust you again. Often trust must be earned.

However, there may be underlying causes for outbursts of anger which is also a sin in Gods eyes. Often unstable hormones cause this such as in puberty, menses, menopause etc., brain injury as in stroke or other illness can make a person apt to respond in this way and at the same time deeply regret doing so.
The bottom line is that we all need to forbear one another in love, to hate sin as God does but to love and have compassion for sinners, since we all fall into that category. And most of us struggle with the log in the eye syndrome.

+1

I used to be a hot head and sometimes even now, the old me will boil to the surface. Everyone has their breaking point or "pet hate". what I have learned through Christ's teachings and the trials sent to me is that it get's us nowhere.Except maybe a short feeling of satisfaction at venting our spleen. (you try driving in a civilized manner over here and you'll know where I'm coming from:wall)

On the point you made Classik about other Christians getting angry when you err, when I get that reaction from them after being honest enough to share my shortcomings with them, I've found the following 6 words are a great leveler. "What? You don't own a mirror?"
Not very tactful i'll admit, but I never said I was.

Oh,by the way Firefox rocks, IE does not.;)

Some Christians are very carnal and really do not care about their actions or reactions.

Then others don't realize now they have the power of Christ in them to resist being a jerk :lol They could now be victorious over the flesh and follow the Spirit if they apply it to their lives. Of course everyone is at a different level in their walk with the Lord and we give grace and forgiveness as they walk out their Christian life, becoming more mature as time goes on.

As the golden rule says, treat others as you would want to be treated.

Well I wouldn't have known that, you seem to be walking in victory in that. I can understand about crazy drivers! I am always amazed at people who are so laid back all the time --until they get in the car LOL

I agree we need to be real with the world, but to advocate getting our heads out of scripture? Couldn't agree wit hthat.

If we get in the Word we are renewing our mind to God's way of thinking which is the answer to this situation, because it's going to change our actions, reactions, and responses

Romans 12:2And be not conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

It's no coincidence that the times when I've been most at peace with God and have grown the most has been when my Bible reading has been at its most regular.

The Scriptures are powerful!

Hebrews 4:12For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

2 Tim 3:16-17 (HCSB)
All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
