I attended church today and one of our local elders preached on the topic, standing firm on God's word.
I think he made a grave error by stating that the Internet is the devil's tool.
Asking people to focus on God's word is good but making a point about the evils of Internet is so stupid.
Modern technology is good. What if there was no technology in making of computers, sewing machines, cars and telephones.
I think the fact that he may not be able to use the new technology is what has him upset.
I have a craft business where I am involved in crochet and embroidery and I can purchase most of my stuff from off the Internet.
I was able to purchase a piece of crochet software from Texas in the USA.
I only had to download it on my laptop, since it was sent through my email.
Of course there is pornography on the Internet, but it is also in the book stores. A person has to make the choice of either choosing to view what is appropriate, the same way they choose to purchase something in a bookstore.
No one can build character for us. Evil is everywhere and the internet is not the ONLY place where it can be found. People use their motor cars for sexual escapades will you not buy a car. The whole argument is just silly.
Sometimes religious people can become so idiotic in their reasoning that it makes me cringe.
