Where does the Bible say what? That we are not to date set?
Matthew 24:36 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.Yeah.
Matthew 24:36 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.
Acts 1:7 And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority.
If you can see with those 2 verses and reading them literally that we are not to date set....then..I rest my case.Where do either of these say setting a date is a no no? Jesus told the disciples that no one had known the day or the hour, that doesn't mean no one ever will. Paul said at the last trump the dead in Christ will rise, so Paul knew it would be at the last trump. Daniel gave pretty exact numbers regarding the end days. God gave some pretty exact numbers regarding both of Israels exiles.
Those passages don't say anything about setting a date. They were statements made to the disciples, not to anyone else. As I said, Paul knew it was at the last trump and Jesus said,If you can see with those 2 verses and reading them literally that we are not to date set....then..I rest my case.
To each their own.Its funny when you see some people claiming the end is near, then they will talk another time later, because people are blind, about some 1000 year world peace when Christ returns.
I mean. I just dont get it. The end is near but before that there will be 1000 years of world peace they say. Whos caught up in the clouds some rapture. Whats going on?
I think some people are going insane.
I can guarantee you, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that "the end" will come for all of you on this forum before the year 2139. And that is my factual prediction you can take to the bank. Some of you won't even see ten more years on this Earth.
Boy, this "seer" stuff is easy.
Just a thought here. If I am speaking to my daughters and I say something like, "No one knows when I will return from my business trip." Actually, this was common when I worked as a field service technician. Does the fact that I am speaking directly to my daughters mean that only they will not know or does my statement imply nobody knows including my wife, my mother, my neighbor, ....? Actually, when I go on a business trip, I don't even know when I will return. Those passages don't say anything about setting a date. They were statements made to the disciples, not to anyone else. As I said, Paul knew it was at the last trump and Jesus said,
14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) (Mat 24:14-15 KJV)
Regarding the end Jesus said read Daniel.
I just hope it doesn't happen before I'm dead, I want the whole deal, if the LORD is willing. Of course, I have a leg up on most of you as I lay here, over two years past the date my young, silly, doctor fixed for my death. I just want to go home but the LORD holds the day and I am, likely, a better servant now that He does not need to kick me behind the knees to make me be still and just listen.
Besides, it would, just, be to cool to watch me come out of the grave and fly through the sky, trying to get me back in there!

In like manner, I think Jesus implied that no one, not His disciples, not the gentiles, not Satan, not anyone; not even He himself knows. Only the Father knows. Therefore, it would seem impossible for anyone to set a date and get it right. Well....I suppose if one would live long enough on this earth to be alive when it happens and every day he picks tomorrow as "the day" he will eventually get it right.
Jesus was referencing the Jewish marriage custom whereby the groom prepares a place at his father's house for his betrothed bride. It is the father alone who decides when the groom's preparations are complete. Then the father sends the son back to collect his bride for the actual marriage ceremony.
