Is there something significant about water or a flood? I wonder why God chose to flood the world rather then just speak death upon the land, sparing Noah's family. Seems like it would have been a lot faster. God sent an angel to kill the 1st born of all of Egypt soo o sometimes God uses angels sometimes he uses a flood, sometimes I was just curious why the different methods if God could simply speak death into the land. :confused

Yes GOd is always teaching,,,,,,in this case,,,,I believe it has something to do with another flood mentioned..........

Gen 11:24 And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days.

150 days is 5 months.....

Rev 9:5 And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man.

Rev 9: 10 And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months.

satan will cause a flood just like God did,,but his flood will be a flood of lies....

Revelation 12:15
And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.

Revelation 12:16
And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.

i dont think it is in the nature of God to do things just so he feels good about himself? or boasts on his actions? He knows He is amazing.

Me either,,,I think every thing God does is out of love for us whether discipline or teaching.....

I think when God decides to flood,,,or send plagues,,,He looks at what would be the best way to get us to change and to give us knowledge.......

How is mass destruction a learning tool for those who were destroyed? :gah Logically, one can't say that "the message was for those after", because it was promised to never occur again. And it wouldn't BECAUSE "men are evil". . . . . which was supposed to be the reason for the flood to begin with. :shrug

Logic Orion????
How is mass destruction a learning tool for those who were destroyed?

What do you consider mass destruction,,,,,the flood was to wipe out the giants,,,and the adamic generations that had been mixing with the fallen angels.......

Learning tool???? Indeed just about everyone can tell you about Noah,,,,and how he was good and God saved him,,,,,this is a learning tool right off the bat to be good and obey God....you gotta be kidding with these questions,,,I can present you with 3 graders that will lecture you on what they learned from the story of Noah........

Logically, one can't say that "the message was for those after", because it was promised to never occur again.

Dont let your questions turn into quickness to oppose scripture.........

A water flood was never to occur again but a "flood" will occur in the near future,,have you not read it??????????

Revelation 12:15
And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.

Revelation 12:16
And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.

"men are evil". . . . . which was supposed to be the reason for the flood to begin with.

No you are wrong,,,,,,,,the flood was not because "men are evil:" it was because all the generations of Adam had polluted themselvess with the fallen angels/sons of cain,,,,,except Noahs family.....

Man had been evil way before the flood,,,have you forgot about the little garden incedent?????or maybe the murder of Abel.....

I personally have learned much from the flood of Noah,,,I think you will find many that have......

Everyone? . . . . . . Really?? :gah The story reads WAY too much like a "fairy tale" to be taken seriously.

I've said all I'm going to say, actually. I believe that I'm going to be done with this site. Nothing personal, but I wish to cause no more trouble here.

Farewell.

If you were causing trouble dont you think you would have been banned????????

Fairy tale???? Maybe what you have heard concerning it is fairy tale,,,,but the bible is surely not.....

Whats fairy tale,,,,,satan/fallen angels trying to destroy the Messiahs bloodline?????

Is God being angry with man's sin fairy tale?????? Is God destroying some men fairy tale?????

Again unless your willing to go thru the text,,,,you cant sit back and say sounds like a fairy tale,,,present your case for this thinking....

Going through the text is what decided my take on the story. And yes, it reads like a metaphorical story at best, right from the beginning. It is absurd to believe that angels can "have a child with a human".

Anyway, the moderators have been very patient with me, and I appreciate that, very much, but I feel the need to move on because this site no longer offers any answers. Only each person's own religious doctrine/dogma, . . . often conflicting with another christians's doctrine/dogma, from time to time. So there really isn't anything left for me here.

Blessings to you all! :)

I think water has a cleansing effect. Literally, symbolically, and I think spiritually (have to look that one up)
But, it does clean. lol

:gah . . . . . . So, ... am I one who "has lied", or "has given up"? :gah

Regardless, depending on who IS right, maybe NO one will "see who spoke truth". That doesn't take away from my view [of the story being "fairy tale"-ish], by having "angels with the ability to get human women pregnant". So, believe what you will, I guess.

An interpretation of the flood story of Noah does not need to appear "fairy tale-ish". Every story in the Bible can have an accurate and reasonable interpretation, if you are willing to look for it.

(THE) just happens to have a particularly, laughably :rolling , nightmarish interpretation, but that is his dogmatic crutch.

The only crutch I have is the bible bro......What I have presented is GOd destroying humans and Giants do to the influx of fallen angels......What I have also shown is human nature to depend on themselves instead of God by building a tower that would allow them to escape a future flood......

I only "gave up" when I discovered more about what the Bible claims of God. Though it isn't a true "giving up". "Giving up" would indicate that I was looking for specific . . . whatever. . . and because it didn't happen, I no longer tried. This is less about "trying", and more about seeing the "TRUE" message found in the Bible, . . . and having issues with it. But that's for another topic. The topic at hand is "Noah's flood". I see it as a completely non-literal story, . . . and [as I said] it begins with the biggest "What?", . . .that being the part about "angels being able to make human females pregnant."

As for it being "just an interpretation", . . . . what's the moral of the story? There are a few that I could attach to it, but they aren't accepted by normal christian doctrine.

YOu might have been thought that andels are totally different from human,,,,well there not....

If humans can eat angel food,,,and angels can eat human food,,,,then what does that tellya....

Dont let that stop ya.

Normal?????? What is considered normal by most christians is a bunch of pucky.....talking snakes magical trees flying on clouds,,,, all nonsense....

Hmmmmm. . . . . not sure if you're being serious or not, . . . .but yeah, those are pretty crazy things.

Yeah im serious,,,,even with the story of Noah there is some fairy-tale that snuck in but the basis is true,,,,But remember Christ said the days of the Son of man (last days) will be like the days of Noe (Noah) therefore we must understand the days of Noah it hold vital clues to our future......
