Do you consider that some people have the "Gift of Faith" today? Pentecostals and some factions of the Evangelicals claim that they possess the Gifts of the Holy Spirit which the early believers received, but I have not seen any real evidence, although I have only ever attended, on one occasion, one Pentecostal meeting. I could not endorse their Pastor speaking in an unknown (to me at least) tongue, and a young lady "interpreting" what he said. Also the two attempts at healing by the Pastor including the prayers and laying on of hands by two assistants failed to heal the patients. One had a bad knee due to a motorbike accident, the other had a bad case of the flu.

One of my Baptist workmates, when some "activity" occurred in his Baptist Church, and as a result he left and joined another local Baptist Church, and he said to me "THAT is NOT the Holy Spirit." He and his wife were singers who used to visit and sing in the various local Baptist Churches. They seemed to be the old fashioned Billy Graham type Baptists. I saw one example of what was claimed to be the Holy Spirit on You-tube and I consider that this was horrendous and God dishonouring, even though a large audience seemed to quietly endorse this extreme "activity".

Kind regards

Greetings again Hawkman,

Did you bypass the following method?
Proverbs 2:1–11 (KJV): 1 My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; 2 So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding; 3 Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; 4 If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; 5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. 6 For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. 7 He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. 8 He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints. 9 Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.
10 When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; 11 Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:

Kind regards
Trevor
Do you think I received the Gift of Word of Knowledge through my own power ? Perish the thought .

Greetings again Hawkman,
Do you think I received the Gift of Word of Knowledge through my own power ? Perish the thought .
I am not saying that the 1st Century believers who received the various gifts had to manually learn these things. How do you suddenly know how to speak a foreign language? But it would be interesting to test someone who suddenly comes into possession of "Word of Knowledge", just to see how knowledgeable they are on different Bible topics.

I also find it interesting that if Solomon wrote Proverbs 3, as to whether this was the path he himself actually took despite the example of the Two Women and the Child. His son Rehoboam seemed to fail in wisdom, even if Solomon wrote or spoke Proverbs 3 to him. Solomon was granted "Wisdom", but was this by direct "Spirit infusion" at the beginning of his reign? or a gradual education and increase? In other words, he became a specialist in this discipline.

Kind regards

There is no learning involved with the language , all the knowledge comes from the Holy Spirit as the Holy Spirit is the one taking the utterance . There is a supernatural connection made between the Holy Spirit and speech control of the human . I don't know what words I am saying until they are audible .
But it would be interesting to test someone who suddenly comes into possession of "Word of Knowledge", just to see how knowledgeable they are on different Bible topics.
The word of knowledge that I know about is information the Holy Spirit gives to you and not a large spectrum knowledge all given to you . Example , I had dream and was shown what my future would be in @6 months time . I had no idea I was being shown my future I just thought it was a very different dream . And just as the dream was I lived it out and I knew what to expect over about a 2 week time frame . I am very grateful to God that I was shown my future , it made a lot of difference to me . I was very troubled till I realized I was living out the dream .
