What do you think this image is?

Revelation 13:11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.

12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.

13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,

14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

Out of the earth represents Israel. This one doing great things will be religious, though antichrist also as the beast is. He will be one of two receiving marching orders from the prince, Satan, and end up in the lake of fire altogether. (Rev 20:10)
This one you describe is the False Prophet.

I've always thought of an image something like a statue or a flag that represents a country, as in i pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States Of America..

I've heard all sorts of ideas about what this image might be, after years of study i think i might have found the answer.. but I'd like to hear from some others first..

No, the image of the person you describe is the False Prophet as the another beast in Rev 13:11. As to the image set in the Holy place that belongs only to God would be in type like that which Nebuchadnezzar set up in Dan 3:5.
This second beast (the False Prophet) causes all to worship the Another Beast (The first beast many mistakenly refer to as the antichrist; ask reba) we read of in Rev 13:12 whose wound was healed. Notice in Rev 13:2 that "the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.", and so it isn't Satan being worshipped, but the very beast worshipped here is the first beast we read of in Mat 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand
2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin (The beast whose wound was healed by the False Prophet)be revealed, the son of perdition;)

In 1972 i told my wife, if this image were to come to life you would then have the image of the best..

Then it happened just a few years ago i found this..

Having a knowledge of some of your thoughts I might guess you are thinking of Rev 17:5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
Rev 17:9 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.
Rev 17:18 And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth. (Women in the bible often refer to religious organizations.)

But it has much to do with the Image of The Beast..

Sinthesis, it has always been the Roman Empire that persecutes Gods children from the time of Nebuchadnezzar, and even before him, taking Israel (being Gods children) captive until the day of the Lords return. Who do you think it was that crucified Christ other than the Roman Empire. You really have to go back into history of Babylon to understand what is facing us in the future.

It is an apocalyptic vision which John has attempted to describe in human language as best as can be done considering the limitations of human language.

Trying to figure out exactly what it is before it comes to pass is an exercise in futility.

Watch and pray and you will know exactly what it is when you see it.

It's really not futile to be Spiritually prepared for that which is yet to come. By studying Revelations we will be prepared Spiritually for that which is about to be released here on earth by the hands of man and then also by the hand of God. It's a lesson of learning great faith and trust in the Lord and to be physically and Spiritually prepared until the return of Christ.
