What I have experienced by having the Spirit of Christ in me, and having the mind of Christ, is I know I’m being taught by Him, and therefore I don’t look to other men to teach me.
This only breeds division.
This is what carnal immature people do, is follow other men, and promote the opinions of men.
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.
These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.
1 Corinthians 2:12-16
First of all, those who have the Spirit of God have been freely given the knowledge of the things that God has given us.
Secondly we who have the Spirit are taught by the same Spirit the things of Christ; the things that are from His mind, the Spirit makes known to us.
Having the mind of Christ doesn’t mean His mind has replaced our mind, as if one person could contain all of His mind.
Paul said “we” have the mind of Christ, not “I” have the mind of Christ.
All of us who are Christ’s have access to His mind by the Spirit in us so we all have the same Spirit and this Spirit searches the things of God and makes them known to us, so that we all can be of the same doctrine and of the same wisdom, so we all can be in unity.
Not being followers of other men, but followers of Christ.
For “
who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ. And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ. I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able; for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men? For when one says, “
I am of Paul,” and another, “I am of Apollos,” are you not carnal? 1 Corinthians 2:16-3:4
