He refused, in another string to tell me his thoughts or view on why we still have the Old Testament and went all livid on me. That told me right up front, New Age ¿Preacher?
He was responding to my post. ;)

I didn't say Scripture is your view. That's not what I said at all. If you want to share Scripture, just post the verses and nothing else.

As soon as YOU post your own words, you are commenting on what the Bible means and not simply sharing what it says. When you explain the meaning, you are explaining YOUR view of the text.

This is what I said -

Please point out to me, how this scripture is now "my view" , as if scripture is somehow my opinion.

  • eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality; Romans 2:7

God, who “will render to each one according to his deeds”: eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality; but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness—indignation and wrath, Romans 2:6-8

I didn't explain anything.

From post 31 -

Here are those who will receive eternal life.

  • eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality; Romans 2:7

Is this passage the truth or a lie?

Base on this passage of scripture, Romans 2:6-8, do you believe God will give eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality;

You asked "do you believe...." in other words, you are asking me what I think is the meaning of the text. This is my whole point. Of course I believe those verses to be true. But they don't even begin to lay out the whole case for what I believe is the correct biblical position. You can't get there without using your own words and understanding to work out the meaning of the text. In doing so, you could get it right but you also could get it wrong.

You want to focus on one verse? It's easy. Is Romans 2:7 true? Yes. I believe that God gives eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor and immortality.

There. But now someone will eventually ask me what I think that verse means or how it ties together with other verses in Scripture. Once I start using my own words, I'm no longer quoting Scripture but I'm explaining my personal view.

That's what's done on this forum all day long: people give their personal views of a variety of matters.

In speaking of beliefs that claim to be Christian, I think where we have to draw the line is with those that are really complete perversions, that leave Christianity nothing but a hollow shell.

You mingle, however, only so long as the mostly atheist moderators find you tolerable. When a Christian actually meets their arguments head-on and tosses their ridicule and sarcasm back in their faces, he's history.

I was surprised, however, that my angriest opponents were not New Atheists but rather people calling themselves Christians. I came away believing this new breed of "Christian" poses a bigger threat to Christianity than the New Atheists could ever hope to be.

So well said, as a Lawyer if you have the time or interest would you review this article and the charges made?

BLASPHEMY AGAINST THE HOLY SPIRIT - link

Or you can google newcovenantpreacher.com and find the article

Do I have the ability to actually bring forth these charges? The crime of teaching that people are Saved is in fact quite deadly!

When you reply to someone, their part will show up with "quote" in brackets. It's like this: [quoote] reply text here [/quoote]

I misspelled "quote" but it won't show up if I spell it correctly. Don't include our reply within the bracketed quote.

You're reply should come after this: [/quoote]

That will show both the first post and your reply to it but they will be separated. It will look like this.

when someone says something, the brackets put their words in a quote box like this.

when you reply outside of it, yours show like this.
